Excellent Tunes From the crushing opening title track right thru closer Demon Prince, you should not be disappointed. Read a few not so glowing reviews of this, not sure why really, this thing flat out rocks. My personal favorite is the speedy killer Escalation. Neck breaking riffs, nice solos. . . the fun song that really wakes up the neighborhood!
I love the slower start of Amok Run that builds into a fierce angry metal anthem. Well styled song there. The entire album has tons of great melody mixed in with the pummeling riffs. All in all, if you're a fan of the band you should be happy. So far, the one of the best albums I have heard this year by far.

Other Reviewers, Please Return To Earth
Perhaps with their older stuff, with the Endless Pain and Pleasure to Kill era. First of, it's a crime to compare the work on this album to anything Slayer has ever done. I can see comparisons with the glasscutting guitar solos and socially aware themes. This CD, and I know what they were trying to go far here, just failed pretty hard. The two stars are for some guitar solos, but mainly for the drumming, which is amazing throughout. But I couldn't handle the "singing" on this one. At times it was downright terribly embarassing. What the hell was he trying to do? Absolutely horrible, and nothing like he has done on any previous work. Lots of riffs here similar to many other bands, too. Kreator has created nothing new here, and fans expecting the good 'ol sound should definitely hear some samples before dropping their cash on it. I only paid a few bucks for a promo-copy, yet still feel cheated. Vintage? Hardly. Something has to stand the test of time before it's considered vintage. Kreator is, but Hordes of Chaos will never be. A masterpiece? Definitly not. Singer ruins the CD for me, anyway. From the guys that wrote Dying Victims, Take Their Lives, Endless Pain, Pleasure to Kill, Flag of Hate, Betrayer and the likes, this is sad. Many people consider Coma of Souls or Terrible Certainty to be their best work. Personally, I like to freshness and rawness of Endless Pain and Pleasure to Kill. Enemy of God was a brilliant CD, combining all the elements of what made them so appealing from the start plus new ideas and a level of playing that very few surpass in the realm of German thrash. It just shreds all the way through. Maybe I expected too much, but I didn't expect this! Do yourself a favor, and wait until the price falls a bit more before buying this one. In the meantime, dig out your Extreme Aggression cassette and listen to the real Kreator.
