Unreleased west coast heat
It takes me back to the hayday of Deathrow records when the label featured tha dogg pound, doc dre and snoop. To all that are west coast rap fans: ya'll been sleepin' on this kurupt! This is by far Kurupts best cd by ten miles. At that time deathrow artist were industry domminating powerhouses setting high level standards both production(beats) wise, and lyrically that have not yet been reached since although many have tried. Even though this cd is NOT of the deathrow dynasty it is a throwback to that era. I place it right up there with the best deathrow CDs. It's just got that "FUNK" that so much hip hop lacks today. The cd contains deep messaged but bangin' ballads such as "where ya headed" and " I keep tryin" and bangin ass knockers like "you ain't tha homie" and "now whut". A must have for west coast fans and many more!!!.

Another nice Kurupt album
With 13 sogns, about half are from other albums or are remixes, but of the 13, 1 is a classic, 1 I skip, 3 are ok and the other 8 are good or real good songs. As Kurupt re-signed to Death Row a beef came about between him and Daz, who released this Agaisnt The Grain album on his own label right when Kurupt was supposed to release an album under the same name on Death Row (it didn't come about until 2 years later). Guests are on all but 2 songs. Production credits aren't given, but Daz, Mike Dean and Ivan Johnson did the majority, if not all the songs. A nice album to have for his fans to get to hear some of his unreleased songs.
