Pretty Good Collection

The good news is that I like a lot of the songs here. Lamb is (was) one of my favorite groups and with the purchase of this CD there is only one Lamb CD I do not have. Lamb v. Cosmos, Heaven, Trans Fatty Acid and Sweet are great and there are others that are certainly good.

The bad news is that I don't like many of the songs here. My real disappointment is what they did to the song Gabriel which is my favorite Lamb song. Both versions of Gabriel on this CD fall far far short of doing it justice.

If you are a true Lamb fanatic this is a CD you will want to have.

Excellent retrospective/reinvention of Lamb
If you don't know lamb, this is a great album to start off with. If you love Lamb, you're really gonna get a kick out of these remixes, and the liner notes are amazingly candid.

What a sound!
This new compilation collects some great remixes, more than a few previously available and familiar (Mr. Lamb has a sound somewhat similar to Portishead or Morcheeba, while still retaining more than a bit of originality. Scruff's "Gold" remix introduced me to the band about 10 years ago), yet about half of the selections are previously unavailable or extremely rare. A plethora of great remixers are represented, including many doing some of their earliest remix work (Fila Brazilia, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Rae & Christian, Photek). Even the earlier tracks, while providing a history of the drum & bass scene, sound fresh and valid. For fans of drum and bass specifically, and today's electronica more generally, this is a must-have disc.
