Customer Reviews The start of a career I was a huge fan of singer with big voices like Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion, I needed to be impressed in order to pay attention. The first time I heard COMPLICATED in 2002 I was around 16 years old. Avril Lavigne held this quality, the first time I heard THAT voice on the radio, I HAD to find out who it was. I waited for the release and looked up information on the young girl who was AMAZINGLY close to my age. I was dissapointed to find out that she was a sk8er girl, as I was pretty straight-edge, myself. That small lable towards Ms. Lavigne meant absolutely nothing. This young woman is an artist, with a voice that can move anyone to tears. There have been many great pop songs, but someone who can write music and sing the way Ms. Lavigne does, that's truly a gift from a higher power. It's now 2007 and Lavigne has 3 albums under her belt. Only a start, but a fantastic start to a career that I hope (and know) will last for many decades. Music like Avril's holds close to your heart. With Lavigne, she gives you fun songs ("I Can Do Better", "Girlfriend", "Sk8er Boi"), but she's also more than capable of giving your heart string tugging songs ("When You're Gone", "How Does It Feel?", "Complicated"). Avril. . . keep up the good work and never lose sight of how wonderful you are. I'm not clever, but neither is she Hmm. . Let's see if I can write a short review using all the songs on here. Perhaps it's too "Complicated" for Avril to be anyhting other than a pre-fab Disney cutout. . . but with an "edge"! Oooh! Mascara! She must be introspective! "I Don't Give" a crap "Why" she's making music, I just want it to stop. This isn't complicated. Everyone loved how good it was and how much airplay it recieved. Ok, let me start by saying that Complicated was my favorite song of 2002. I bought this CD expecting Complicated. Well, it was Complicated, just not how I remembered. Complicated on this single is some weird remix. I hated the remix. Then I heard the rest of the CD which was actually worthless. I Don't Give and Why were both medicore. 1. Complicated (Remix) 1/5 2.
