Editoral Review While Jive Records uses the soundtrack opportunity to roll out their entire 1999 lineup (and then some), what you actually get isn't all that impressive. If the film is guilty of perpetuating stereotypes of a mysterious and sinister Chinatown, then the The Corruptor's soundtrack is guilty of perpetuating stereotypes of a superficial and single-minded hip-hop nation. The collection of commercial rap is run of the mill, best summed up by Jay-Z's annoyingly anthemic "More Money, More Cash, More Hoes (remix). " Cuts worth keeping include Mobb Deep's menacing "Allustrious" and Murda Mil's ambitious (if not a little overbearing) "Have You Heard of Me. " The rest is average--or worse--with KRS-One's posse jam "5 Boroughs" one of the low points. --Oliver Wang ..
