These Aren't The Original Recordings! They Are Rerecordings!
No they aren't as good as the originals but they aren't bad either and I would recommend this CD to fans of Brenda Lee who can tolorate rerecordings!. I don't think this Brenda Lee Christmas CD is awful and I don't have anything against singers rerecording their old songs but I can understand why some people were very disappointed and thought they were getting the original recordings because it always seems when a music studio puts out a CD or cassette tape of rerecordings of a popular singer that they print the info in such tiny print where you need a magnifying glass to read the fine print but with that said I think the rerecordings are actually good.

Wonderful Christmas Collection from a Wonderful Lady!
This is a nice collection of Christmas songs by Brenda. Brenda Lee is like a fine wine, she gets better as she gets older. All these other negative reviews is just rubbish! Yes, Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree is not the version from 1958, but we ALREADY have that recording. It's nice, as a Brenda Lee fan, to have something different! If you want the original version, by the CD titled "Jingle Bell Rock" and that will have all the songs recorded in the 1960s. I am very glad Brenda recorded this album 13 years ago. I really like how most of the songs fade into one another. If you are a music fan or a fan of Christmas music, this is a great CD to add to your collection. Brenda Lee will always be the top female singer! .

In the New Old Fashioned Way?
If you are expecting to hear the Brenda Lee songs you grew up with. . DO NOT BUY THIS CD! The songs on this album are sung by a much older Brenda Lee and it sounds like it. Recorded in 1991, you get a little old lady voice that remotely sounds the Brenda of the late 50's - early 60's. "In the New Old Fashioned Way" is new fashioned alright, but she is definetely old.
