Brenda in romantic mood
British buyers generally preferred her up-tempo rocking songs while American buyers generally preferred her love songs. Brenda Lee is best remembered these days for her Christmas classic (Rocking around the Christmas tree) but she had a long string of hits in the early sixties around the world. This particular compilation of love songs avoids all the big hits (although a few minor hits are here) so makes an ideal companion to a collection of hits.

While Brenda's own hits are generally missing, many of the songs will be familiar as they are covers of other people's hits. One song that may appear to be a cover (Always on my mind) is actually a Brenda Lee original. Although written for Elvis Presley, Brenda recorded the song about six months before Elvis and had a minor country hit with it.

Elsewhere, Brenda does great covers of Georgia on my mind, Crying game, Teach me tonight, Always something there to remind me, End of the world, Softly as I leave you, You always hurt the one you love, You don't have to say you love me, Crying time, Sweet memories and many other classics, all of which Brenda sings in her own distinctive style.

If you already have a collection of Brenda's hits and you enjoy the love songs, you'll love this collection too.

Splendor, glamour, beauty, versatility, and velvet voice!

Few singers have the requested versatility and the necessary voice to get that so well know pieces of the repertoire sound so fresh and rich.
What else may you request of a singer? She was the sum of these adjectives and even more, according to trustworthy testimonies of people much older than me who had the honor to appreciate her craft in live performances.

Brenda Lee is a singer which offers us every sound as we had not ever listened never before, being that hard to find quality the basis of his applauded popularity.

It has been said about her, she was a very dedicated artist in every detail; yes indeed. she and Connie Francis incarnated the essential profile of the beloved sixties girl. One of my loves of youth and remind this comment of Jimmy Mc Hugh composer of Don't blame that "she was in those ages the number one singer in the world" .

.

This is an excellent collection
of Ms Brenda Lee's beautiful ballads, with an exemplary good taste for the choice of the songs.

Every track is great
What more can I say?. The best of Brenda Lee in a romantic mood.

YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS THING
What a great voice she has! Sweet, broken, loud, soft, loud. . every thing to make a ballad sound magnificently.
Only a native from Georgia (as Brenda) can sing Georgia On My Mind with that sincere emotion, I know the original and several versions of Funny How Time Slips Away, Brenda's rendition is absolutely the best of all, listen to Sweet Memories, Crying Game, I Left My Heart in San Francisco, just to mention a few of this excellent compilation.
I listen to this CD over and over and never get tired, each time it is a pleasure.
I have the CD that Brenda recorded in 1991; I wait for another CD of new recordings. Hey producers: don't miss the opportunity, you find a voice like hers only once in a lifetime.
I also wait for another compilation like this one, without the current hits of Brenda that, of course, I already have too.
