Not as great as the first two but a lot better than what came next Sadly, there's much less noise, urgency, and punkish energy on this record than their earlier ones but, again, compared to the long line of crappy releases that followed this, Lick is still a lot better. While I much prefer the first two albums to this one, Lick is still a pretty good record. I'm willing to bet that if you love the later mellower Lemonheads sound, you probably won't like Lick. Personally, I feel that after this record the quality of the Lemonheads music took a huge nosedive and has never recovered. Thanks a lot Evan Dando!.
Damn, this is good
I listened to it for five months. That was my thought when I first bought this album in college. It is one of my favorite albums in my collection and I still listen to it on and off. "luka" is a great remake of an annoying song and "those were the days", some of the lyrics are from TV show "All in the family" (just watch the opening credits. ). Their next album after this one is "It's a shame about ray", So this album is one out of four lemonheads albums (along with creator and hate your friends) where Dando and Co. still remain true to their roots.
End of an era
Like most early Lemonhead records, Ben Deily's songs shine on this album. Too bad that junkie Evan had to slowly ruin this band. It's not that Evan and his songs are bad, there's just really no comparison though. After this record, the band broke up. But in typical Evan fashion, he afterwards re-formed the band with different people. . . as if it was only his band. Ben went on to front the generally unheard of Pods, who were quite amazing. If you're looking for a copy of their only cd, Taang! may have a copy or two around, ask 'em. I wish I knew what Ben was up to now. It's too bad really. . . darn Evan.
Good Disc to Get
It has a few songs from the first Lemonheads full length and some really good pop style punk. This is a good disc to add to a Lemonheads collection.

If you're going to just cut and paste reviews off the All Music Guide website every time you review something, at least don't be stupid enough to leave the original reviewer's name attached!.
