Not bad but could've been much better. They are also one of the best live bands you will ever hear. I've been a big fan of Huey Lewis & the News since 1984 & consider them to be one of the best pop/rock bands of all time. Unfortunately, most folks seem to think that these guys only had 3 hits. The Power of Love, Stuck on You & I want a New Drug. But they had many more great songs & albums & they are all classics. For the casual fan, this collection isn't a bad one & it does have many great songs including several that weren't really hits but could've been. But this album is supposed to be a G/H album & it is missing many major hits that no HL&N collection should be without. Songs like their first major hit - "Do You Believe In Love?", The awesome & energetic - "Heart And Soul" (from Sports), and the excellent - "Perfect World" which was their last major hit of the 80's are all noticably absent. also missing are the hits: "I Know What I Like", "Jacob's Ladder", "Hip To Be Square", "Couple Days Off" and my favorite from the Back to the Future movie - "Back in Time". So as much as i'd like to recommend this album, I really can't becuz there are just way too many great songs missing.

A Lifelong Fan
There is plenty that will interest those who are familiar with the band (Heart of Rock 'n' Roll) and tunes that will appeal to the lifelong listener (World To Me is a great ballad). What draws me to Huey Lewis and the News is their ability to stand the test of time, and this synopsis of the band's history does a good job of covering all the bases. Songs like Slammin' get some play time, which is a great opportunity to show off the stellar horn section that this band has hewned and sharpened over the years. This is by far the best overall compilation album I've seen of this band, and if you want to be introduced to the versitility of a really solid group, get this album!.
