4 1/2 Stars: Great Series From Mercury/Polygram If you only know him from his Sun Records period, then you need to hear this. 24 great, mostly country, tracks from the Killer. He puts his stamp on each song, whether it's rock, blues, country, or gospel. On most of these tracks, Jerry Lee sounds like he was still at the top of the charts. He wasn't, except for a few country hits, but most of what is here is better than what was on the charts. Also included, several tracks from his "Live In Church" recording - with JL's always interesting comments between songs - which Mercury decided to shelve until this release. The informative 12-page booklet has recording information and an excellent essay by Hank Davis. .
