Customer Review LP's EMO attempt is better than the rest However, being typical is not what has made Linkin Park huge. "Shadow of the Day" is a song in the EMO vibe, which is not typical of Linkin Park. LP practically invented Rap/Metal and now, with "Shadow of the Day", they are taking EMO to higher level than most. This song is a genuine, heartfelt, aware song about societal strife. Lead Singer Chester Bennington's impassioned vocals mixed against the background of moving music allows this song to grip you. The video that accompanies this song, which shows the people of a rundown ghetto rioting against a totalitarian police force, is a compelling companion piece to the lyrics of the song. "Shadow of the Day" is one of the better songs on 2007 and continues to power Linkin Park's success.
