good stuff
Recall that the 8 track tape was still alive at that time. Given that this was recorded in 1973 or thereabouts, the sound quality is well above average. This performance is available on the Live Music Archive at www. archive. org. , along with many other Feat performances, old and new. Enjoy. .

I was there
I was there that night (both sets)and due to the size of Ebbetts, it really was like having the Feat play in your living room. While several reviewers make a good point about bootlegs, there is no question that this is a hot recording of the band in a terrific venue. Hearing this CD really brought back some great memories. A sidenote: Tommy Bolin's old band,Zephyr, had reunited at the time and was the opening act. After the second set, Little Feat (minus Bill Payne)and Zephyr had a jam session. Lowell and Tommy on the same stage, have mercy! And yes, there were snakes on everything.

Incredible! The best most honest Feat recording of all!
The sound quality is actually excellent despite what other reviews might lead you to believe. This recording is the purest Little Feat out there. You can hear the guitar pick on the strings, breaths being taken, every little detail of the room! The show was in a small venue where the musicians and the crowd seem very comfortable which shines through in the music. YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE IN THE ROOM! Their classic albums are must-owns of course, but this is THE CROWN JEWEL! .

Just enjoy the show
Being a converted Little Feat fan just for a few years now, it is quite funny to see the intensity of the argumentation from both sides: great stuff (although bootleg) opposed too illegal junk with poor sound quality. . .
Of course it isn't right that bandmembers do not receive royalties from this cd, on the other hand it truly is a great concert from the early Feats when they still sounded unpolished. The argument that the sound quality was a reason for Barrere not to put it out themselves seems a load of crap judging from the poor sound quality of some of the Raw/Ripe Tomato cd's, which I also love, be it just for music historical reasons.

Are we all listening to the same disc?
The truth: This disc is great! I wasn't around in the Feat's early days, but if this is what the fans consider "bad", bring on the really good stuff! I've heard enough bootleg recordings to know what a soundboard show sounds like, and this is not a "muddy mix" or "poorly played" as other reviewers have said. After reading all the reviews here (most being very bitter) I had to wonder - Is everyone mad at the fact that the disc is REALLY poor quality, or is the fact that the band isn't getting any money from it. I'm sure the band has many unreleased live recordings that are better, but until they are "officially" released, this will be on my stereo over and over.
