Whooping Great!
The irrepressible Little Richard absolutely blasts these songs out and yet with exquisite lyricism. Each and every track here will blow your socks off. He shows an immaculate sense of timing and how he manages to get the words out so quickly is beyond me. His raw, screaming voice just grabs you and won't let go. From the top speed of tracks like Tutti Frutti and Ready Teddy, through to the slow ones like Send Me Some Lovin' and Can't Believe You Want to Leave, all you'll want to do is turn up the volume and play them again.
The sound is beautifully balanced and as raucous, tearing it up, as it should be. Some might not like digital remastering but it sounds good to me. Great piano and sax. I saw Little Richard on film years ago doin' all these tracks. He'd been filmed live in a theatre where he was climbing all over the walls and singing from the tops of the columns. What a guy - relive it all right here - a great album!.

Outstanding!
. When I was finally ready to pick up a Little Richard collection, this is what I got and it rocks! Great sound quality, compared to previous collections.

Little Richard at his best
The song selection is great. Wow, what memories. The CD has great stereo sound and clarity. If you like Little Richard, you'll want this CD in your collection.

Ribald Spirit
This collection fills that space admirably. Little Richard is one of the few seminal figures in rock for whom I didn't have a complete disc. The sound is excellent for tracks recorded from 1955-1957. Little Richard was a ribald spirit whose flare bubbled with fun. His hits like "Tutti Frutti," "Long Tall Sally" & "Good Golly, Miss Molly" are all here. Tracks like "Rip It Up" & "Ready Teddy" explode with Richard's voice rough & raunchy. "The Girl Can't Help It" that I knew from records by Bobby Vee, The Everly Brothers and The Animals burns here in Little Richard's version. "Lucille" still rips me up with its unvarnished rock n' roll joy. "Jenny Jenny" & "Keep A-Knockin'" are both classic blasts. It's hard to believe that one guy could have recorded so many rock classics in such a short period, but Little Richard was burning hot. This disc captures that energy 50 years later. Enjoy!

The Best of One of the Best
Unless you are interested in dozens of out-takes and false starts, it was overkill. Back in '89 I bought Little Richard's "The Specialty Sessions". This CD gives us all the final releases as we old-timers remember them. This is Rock and Roll history.
