Would their smiles be content rather then cry?
I am headbanging and there are no signs of depression. There are times when I'm looking at a certain light that is chasing the curvature of my lens and looking straight into the windshield at the road ahead. There is a controlled anxiety. Under the influence of earth or not, it still sets apart a great shelf of life for me. It is during those times that I play this cd.

Is it a crazy crazy mixed up town? You ask yourself in Track 1. In track 10, you ask yourself if you should call them freaks. In track 2, you cannot seem to compute just how powerful the vocals are, just how earth defyingly distinct the sound of the music is and you're just lifted and uprooted to another sense of being, one of justice, one of whirlwind, one of magic, one where zoloft rules.

And then you say, Woman! It's a wonderful life when Live.

Kudos to music that truly creates an expression of it's own. It's Live and this respect never dies.

this CD isnt as good as their others but i still love it just cuz its Live and I love the group.


This album deserves more attention than it got
Critics bash it for being slow and unorganized, but fans love it for its dark tones and eerie singing. You've probably heard a lot of mixed reviews about this one. If you are expecting Throwing Copper out of this record, you will be very disappointed. It's a whole other beast.

The album is very slow, sometimes unbearably slow. However, the slowness of many of the songs are what makes them so effective. The guitar effects may seem excessive at first, but they are what really makes this album great. Chad Taylor is one of the most underrated guitar players of the 1990's, and he really shines on this record. His solos may not be prolific, but the notes are perfectly chosen and sound incredible. Patrick Dahlheimer's bass playing is often subtle but is equally brilliant. Like Taylor on the guitar, Chad Gracey is easily the most underrated drummer of the 90's. His snare drum sound is so recognizable and there is not a drummer around who can do so much with the snare drum alone. Ed Kowalczyk is great as the lead singer, but on some songs, his lyrics fall flat. On the song Century, you may find yourself amazed to hear words like "I can smell your armpits" and "Puke stinks like Beer. "

The album highlights are Rattlesnake, Lakini's Juice, Ghost, Insomnia and the Hole in the Universe, Turn My Head, Heropsychodreamer, Freaks, and Gas Hed Goes West. Overall, this is a great 90's record and I think you will be satisfied if you get it.


Live's Best Album
This disc however is the complete package. Throwing copper is great but there are a few songs that i could live without. You can listen to this from start to finish and love every song. .


secret ROCKS!!!
i feel this disk was the BEST of all their works!!! LIVE is an awesome band and secret tops throwing copper and rocks out with soul searching authenticity!!! the *story* on this disk tells truth and brings a connectivity to all who listen to it~~~ it is a defining moment of our own humanity and our own acknowledgement of our understanding of our human experiences~~~ reflection reflection reflection~~~
