¡Fantástico!
Together they billed themselves as Los Tres Ases. Lo Mejor De Lo Mejor (The Best Of The Best) is an excellent two CD set showcasing the remarkable talents of a trio of performers: Marco Antonio Muñiz, Hector Gonzalez and Juan Neri. In any language their music is timeless even though this CD set focuses on their major works during the late 1950s. The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork reflects great judgment.

The first CD starts with "Historía De Un Amor (History Of A Love). The guitar work at the opening of this ballad is sublime; and these men harmonize to perfection! Their excellent diction bolsters their performance; and the melody is classic late `50s Latin which is also loved by quite a few fans of "lounge music. " "Tú Me Acostumbraste" also shines like silver and gold when Los Tres Ases sing and play this so very well; the melody is very pretty and the topic of a past love is again gorgeous in their capable hands. "Lo Dudo (I Doubt It)" features more excellent guitar work and their harmonizing haunts me with its beauty. If you like this type of music, "Lo Dudo" is a tune that will surely charm you.

"El Árbol (The Tree) starts with a sprightly melody that is sure to make you love this tune right from the very first notes. Again Los Tres Ases harmonize well; and every once in a while one of them sings a line or two of the lyrics solo for a very special effect. I love it! Listen also for "Enamorado de Ti" (which essentially means I am full of love for you) continues the hits with a beautiful melody and "Enamorado de Ti" is clearly a major highlight of the first CD.

The second CD continues the great hits. It begins with our heroes singing "La Puerta (The Door);" "La Puerta" captures Los Tres Ases at their very best and that's grand. Listen for "Irresistible;" this ballad is a charming number and the drums work very well to enhance the beauty of this ballad. "Mi Último Fracaso (My Last Failure)" boasts great, gentle guitar rhythms that sounds lovely to the ear; and when one of them comes in on the lyrics this number really takes flight! The three of them quickly start to sing together after a line or two and this makes a great effect. What a love ballad! "Cien Mujeres (One Hundred Women)" is yet another charmer; and I predict that you'll really like "Cien Mujeres. " "El Jarabe Loco (The Crazy Syrup)" has Los Tres Ases performing a much more exotic number that stands out from most of the rest on this two CD set; and they sure do a great job on "El Jarabe Loco. " "El Jarabe Loco" is as good for dancing as the other songs, too.

The second CD has good tunes right up until the end. "Se Me Hizo Fácil (which essentially means She Had Me Easily)" gives us another slow dancing tune designed especially for lovers; and there's also "La Mal Pagadora. " "La Mal Pagadora" ends the CD set very nicely and it leaves you begging for more!

In short, Los Tres Ases were a wonderful team of performers that deserves to be better remembered in our times. I highly recommend this two CD set for lovers of Latin music from the 1950s and early 1960s; and people who enjoy timeless Latin love songs will cherish this for years to come.

a beautiful collection in any language
Repeated listening just makes one marvel at the play of the voices and guitar. This set contains some of the best latin music I've ever heard. I grew up in L. A. listening to some of these songs and Los Tres Ases does them better than anyone else. The sound is soft but deep, and somewhat idiosyncratic. What a pity that they broke up not long after the latest songs on the disk. Check out Sabor a Mi, Historia de un Amor, and Mi Unica Verdad. Haunting and lovely. A real masterpiece.

soothing musica....
Was a change I admit the fast ones they were versatile. A good combination of slow songs as well as some fast ones. Songs such as lo dudo, estoy perdido,la puerta, cien mujeres to name a few are great. This is a good collection by rca label or bmg. Buy this you will be happy you did. If you liked Luis Miguels"romance cd's,then go buy this. Cause these are the guys he probably heard the original versions from or other trios in that time frame. The 50's and 60's. I'm just a lover of good music be it spanish or english.
