Excellent Album!!
"The Last Rebel", while more of a country album was still a great sigh of relief as it showed the band had some great and diverse songwriting skills. When Skynyrd survivors came back in 1991, I was very pleased that they decided not to just simply do a nostalgia tour over and over. "Endangered Species" enhanced that, and their playing abilities as well. But this album was a true collaboration of that style mixed with some electric greatness that made Skynyrd famous in the first place. A little hard edge here, a little accoustic there and a whole lotta southern twang everywhere. Of course my fave part of the album is the addition of Rick Medlocke (of Blackfoot fame) who plays so well with Gary Rossinton. Alot of people don't even realize that Medlocke, even though on drums at the time, was considered a MEMBER of Skynyrd by none other than Ronnie Van Zant back in 1972. Long before Blackfoot ever existed. Hmmmm. . . that predates the original Skynyrd album. . . so don't that make him one of the original members? It does to me.

Anyway, this album to me is one of the most rockin' Skynyrd albums since 1977. . . 'Nuff said. . .

BTW, I reccomend the Japanese release of this album (if you can find one). It features a bonus song called "Sign Of The Times" which has a very down home type feel to it. . . a must if you like southern music. .

One of the best ever
With the addition of Rick Medlocke & HT, & Owen Hale on drums this cd simply rocks. Startin with the front cover, which is awesome, this is a great cd. People have to forget the old band in order to listen to the new one. I've always been a LS fan, but after the crash this band could have just gone away for good, but chose to carry on the name & great sound of southern rock.

NICE!
Ít's sad don't have this kind of albuns to buy in Brasil. Great band, great album. .
