Lynyrd Skynyrd "Another One From The Raod" = An Excellent Live CD = A1+!!!!!!!
However, this CD was only released during 2008. These songs were recorded live, at the Coca Cola Star Lake Amphiteater, in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, on July 15,1997. This is a live CD, the sound quality is great, and the band performs very well, making this one great live CD to have.
The line-up listed on the back is as follows:
Rickey Medlocke - guitar (acoustic & electric & slide) & the dobro
Johnny Van Zant - lead vocals
Hughie Thomasson - electric, slide, & acoustic guitar
Gary Rossington - electric, slide & acoustic guitar
Billy Powell - piano, Hammond B-3 Organ
Owen Hale - drums, percussion
Dale Krantz-Rossington - background vocals
Carol Chase - background vocals
Note: The line-up as listed on the back of the CD does not include Leon Wilkeson. However, his picture is included, along with Hughie's, Rickey's & Gary's on the front of the CD. Leon is included in this live CD, because I can detect his bass lines, especially at the beginning of "Travellin" Man", which was written by him along with Ronnie Van Zant.
The song list is as follows:
1. We Ain't Much Different
2. What's Your Name
3. Voodoo Lake
4. That Smell
5. Bring it Own
6. Simple Man
7. Sweet Home Alabama
8. Travellin' Man - (THIS SONG STARTS OUT WITH LEON'S BASS GUITAR LINES. NOW, THIS ONE IS SPECIAL, BECAUSE IT INCLUDES THE LATE RONNIE VAN ZANT'S SINGING ALONG WITH JOHNNY VAN ZANT. ALSO, IT INCLUDES EXCELLENT SLIDE GUITAR PLAY BY GARY ROSSINGTON, THE OTHER GUITARISTS, AND THE BASS GUITARIST, LEON, ALL PERFORM GREAT GUITAR WORK!!!. )
9. Freebird - (Always Outstanding!!!)
Note - In the liner notes of the CD, which were written by William Hogeland, he spells Van Zant wrong. He spells it as "Van Zandt". Other than that, the liner notes contain good information.
Overall, this is an excellent live CD, that any Lynyrd Skynyrd fan would enjoy. I love mine, and I certainly enjoy it. So, I highy recommend this live CD "Another One From the Road. Thanks!!!!.
