My Last Lynyrd Skynryd Album !!!
The band seemed to be moving away from being a tribute band to having somewhat of their own identity. After their last album (Red,White, and Blue) I was looking forward to this album. This is also the case here - but they have move away from the blues infused honky tonk rock that I have enjoyed to more of an "outlaw country" band that I do not. So I gave it a low rating. If you are a country musin fan of this type of country music - then give this a try - if not steer away. Luckily I was able to sell my copy witout a loss due to Amozon's lower prices. .

Not great Skynyrd
They would often present ideas that you wouldn't expect, including anti-gun (Saturday Night Special) and personal humility (Gimme Three Steps). Lynyrd Skynyrd, in the old days, would often present lyrics that were thought-producing and worth the time and energy to understand.

The new albums is full of shallow cliches. I would have expected a lot more from the group, besides these superficial and shallow ideas. .

Please stop calling this band Lynyrd Skynyrd!
With ONE single remaining member it should be a crime to call this band anything other than what it is. While this is a good record it is NOT a Lynyrd Skynyrd record. The Gary Rossington Band. They arent alone however. Doug Grey calls "The Partial Tucker Band" Marshall Tucker and it's no more "right" or "correct".

CD of Lynyrd Skynyrd
She plays it in her car while she is driving. Bought the CD for my daughter and she was thrilled with it.

Save This Only for the Trash Bin
They are tired, burned out and essentially irrelevant -- except to an audience that's essentially stuck in life. That Skynard continues to produce music is one of the greatest disappointments of the Modern Age. Their song "Still Unbroken" is a case in point: cliched guitar riffs that belong back in the 1980s mixed in with pseudo-"outlaw" lyrics attempting to convince us of the band's (non-existent) manliness and a guitar solo best suited for an afternoon nap. A better title -- for the song and for the band -- would be Still Broken. Thing is, though: this one ain't worth fixin'. Throw 'em on the trash heap with Styx, et. al.
