Once I slammed this disc in, I was blown away! The sounds were mixed evenly, you could make out the guitars and understand the lyrics. From my experiences of trying to obtain live tracks from Machine Head, I've learned not to keep my expectations of quality too high. . . and with the volume at 10, it didn't distort. About the only downside to this import is that it's simply too short, if only MH would release a live album. The demo of 'New Resistance' is an awsome forshadowing of how kickin' the next album will be. Don't let the word demo fool you, most other bands use some fuzzy 4-track recording, but this song is studio quality. A great CD to own.

Then again I loved "The Burning Red". I snapped this CD up today (just for the demo of new resistance, really) and, I dunno - I kinda loved it. If you liked the last Machine Head album, this EP is probably worth looking at.
