Mancini's Master of "Music from Peter Gunn TV Series"
The songs for the most part, are very good but, the soundtrack has about as much "fidelity" as an old fashioned tin can telephone that kids used to play with. I had to rate this recording at four stars, only because of the musical arrangments. The soundtrack at times has way too much echo, which "muddies" up the rest of the instruments.

The producers of this CD recording must have fallen asleep, and did no re-mastering of the original music on tape. Thank God, I have Nero to do my own re-mastering.

This CD shoots a dud; only because it really needs to be re-mastered.


Fifty years old---and still perfecr music
Now I have it in CD form; the thrill is back. Over the years my musical tastes have matured and evolved, and certain records have earned the designation "perfect music," one of which was this "Peter Gunn" in LP form, which I bought in 1959.


The music from Peter Gunn
Unfortunately records do not last. I had the record of this music when I was a teenager. It was good to see that was out on CD. It is great to hear Mancini's music again.


Great Music
This is great, cool jazz perfect for easy listening, romantic dinners, and appreciation of great musicians playing some of Mancini's best compositions. The music to Peter Gunn is superb. Mancini's smooth blending of flutes and French horns is beautiful.

Mancini again, right up there with his sound track from "The Pink Panther". Way cool!! Just the way I remember it.
