Essential Especially You stole the sun from my heart you can always reley on the manics for good music. Absolutely brilliant. BUY IT NOW!!!.
welsh rockers mellow down and it still rocks
This album is more personal and touching than their previous efforts but is still a great rock album and they have certainly proved themselves as one of the best bands in years. After the disappearance of song-writter richy james the Manics have clearly calmed down a bit. The highlights are The Everlasting, If you tolerate this. . . and My little empire, however all the songs are great. This almost is the perfect album. One of the best i own.
Gold=1,Soul=0
But I can't help but miss the ferocity and passion of the first three albums. MSP's 5th album (their 2nd without Richey) is an excellent effort, this coming from a band that is yet to fully deal with the disappearance of their closest friend and guitarist Richey Edwards. I suppose I couldn't have hoped for them to not change as they got more successful. In the words of Richey, ". . everyone is weak. . " This particular version of the CD is available by the truckload in every major retail store in the UK (which leads me to wonder why they call it the 'limited edition' version). If you're a manics fan and can't wait till march 1999 for the official US release, go for it. Otherwise, buy TheHolyBible (for a glimpse of their fiery lyrics) and EverythingMustGo(to see how the band changed after Richey left).
