Customer Reviews
Been a Spooky Kids fan since I was 13...
The songs are great, it just sounds like they did too much digital work on the tracks in the remastering phase. I would prefer more tape hiss to the extremely hollow/compressed sound of the music found here.

Readhead in the Head
More of a fast technopunk sound (Atari Teenage Riot, even Rage Against the Machine) than the more atmospheric work post-Reznor collaboration. Not Manson's best work, but indispensable for completists. Evokes "Down in the Park" and choicecuts from Holywood (Burning Flag, King Kill 33, etc. ). Younger listeners might be scared as this rivals live offerings from Alice Cooper and Kiss, which influence the record's sound. The accompanying DVD features a live performance of "Choklit Cows" (c. '92?), where Manson, the emerging frontman, shows some theatre tricks.

Somewhat released for money
But in the long run, this is a CD solely for fanatics and is too short and/or boring. You could say that Daisy released this thing for money, or you could say he released it so that fans could enjoy it. Only 10 songs? There is a whole list of songs to choose from that could have taken up the rest of the space. I really only like White knuckles and one of the other songs here. I have a rare bootleg/import thing that my friend found in Israel (of all places), titled Demos in my lunchbox vol. 1, and has 15 songs and more consistency then this. Why weren't the demos for Cake and Sodomy, Lunchbox, Intro/Misery Machine, included or the song Luci in the sky with demons?

The bonus DVD has barely any content what so ever and only contains live footage, and is overdubbed with music from the CD. (I admit it is cool to see Gidget Gein playing Bass in the band though. ) Manson and Gacy had taken Daisy to court over this thing because he used Manson's artwork without permission, as a result there is a rare first edition (or whatever) with a different cover featuring drawings of the band members as well as a galley on the DVD, that were both removed shortly after the laws suit. So as a Manson fanatic, I picked this up as a collector's item and that's the only real reason you should either. This was supposed to be part 1 of a 2 CD set and because of the lawsuit I doubt that the second set will ever be released. Look on eBay and find the Demos in my lunchbox for a better collection of Early Manson Demos though.
