chills at the void, floyd
If you like Winnie the Pooh to get disturbingly close to the Marquis de Sade over the `issues` of lost-god futility and crippling disease, then you`ve a legacy my son, and it`s damn nearly gone for a girlie-boy song. Won`t someone please help these `Six` boys strung out on camp Police and Pink Floyd let go their jellysticks and let us in on the human need to read books? Their why is why not. Mansun glitz up the lily-pun with a wiser smirk than most, and if you like ham-on-the-boners you`ll love this like a cliche. Free tickets, lads? You`re not pretending to be Marxist beacons in a capitalist epoch, after all. . . are you?.

It's just like a movie
Why? Because they are groundbreaking in nearly every aspect, and the excellent album SIX just proves what a tour de force Paul Draper and the lads have become. Mansun? Well, they are quite simply the dogs nuts. Forget Suede, the closest you'll get to David Bowie style persona's is with Mansun, particurly in the 6 minute epic "Cancer" where Draper is moved to sing "I'm emotionally raped by Jesus". The band have scraped together a concept album which is based around the works of "Winnie the pooh" author A. A. Milne, and the cult TV classic "The Prisoner", not to mention the cameo from Doctor Who - Tom Baker! Throughout the 70 minutes of this stunner, Mansun never become boring, and as a matter of fact, you wont here the same riff more than 4 times! Buy it now!.

Mind-expanding brilliance.
The lyrics are so deep you could drown, the melodies so haunting and intense, it reiterates just how much can be done nowadays with imagination and raw talent. This second album from Mansun shows a level of maturity that is unequalled by their contemporaries. Paul Draper, frontman and singer, has the BEST voice going. The power of his voice and the subtlety are present in equal measure. I don't care that they are not as popular as they should be as it means it makes their music all the more special for those who appreciate it. The lyrics of all the songs present a sophistication that makes the immature ramblings of Oasis et al seem quite simply pathetic! I saw them live at my University after their first album, and even then you could tell they were something precious. With this album they take popular music to new heights. Even if you don't know all the ins and outs of their Winnie the Pooh references (luckily I have a Philosophy degree which helps!), you are still left feeling that there is a profound centre to their work, rarely seen today. Look out for this band in the future, they will go from strength to strength. Lets just hope that their talent doesn't explode with it's brilliance in the mean time!.

Six is good...Mansun are the best!
If you didn't know about Mansun, they are the most underrated band of the nineties, for some reason their wonderfully inventive and original songs do not get the credit they deserve from the media. If anyone has never heard a Mansun record then this might not be the best song to start with as it not really the most accessable of their tracks. Anyway this is still a cool song and I would reccomend it to everyone. . . so buy it now. please.

A fantastic record. Moody, catchy, beautiful. Excellent!
They're a fantastic band who make fantastic indie music with a dark side ('Negative' or 'Special/Blown It' for example). I had only heard two songs by Mansun before i bought 'Six' but it was money well spent. But it!.
