A Beautiful Tribute that shows true love for Bob The artists who worked together to create this did an excellent job of breathing new life and creativity onto the Bob Marley tracks. This album is a must-have for Marley lovers. The arrangements/remixes are unique and refreshing and show that the artists have a true appreciation for Bob's music and were musically inspired by him to create something new. As a musician myself, I too have found the same incredible creative inspiration from Bob's music, so I relate to this album whole-heartedly. I love that they used the original tracks of his voice and mixed in the new ideas. I also love that each track starts with a spoken word snippet by or about Bob that puts the context of his life and mission into the music. Heart-warming. . . Absolutely beautiful. . . One love!.
Excellent cd with cool versions of some of Bob's classics
Whenver I hear it, it takes me back to the Caribbean, with remixes of Bob's classics. I heard this album while on a catamaran in the Virgin Islands and loved it so much I just had to purchase it. It's a great album.
Turn your lights down low and listen...
Any work that brings Bob's timeless music to a new generation is definitely a good thing, and I'm not a rap fan. While I understand the dismay of some to remixing any of Bob's songs, I think this album is so beautifully done that it transcends most objections. My two favorites here are Turn Your LIghts Down Low, and Johnny Was, two of the best songs ever written, in my opinion. I think this album is a great introduction, and if you're already a Bob Marley fan (and who isn't?) be sure to check out the original tracks also. Just a word of warning, though. . . his music is addictive, I have some on pretty much all the time.
Forgotten Order
The guy apologized, and my order was quickly sent after that. They forgot my order, I had to shoot them an e-mail. Ordered on July 23, recieved August 22. Luckily, Bob Marley is worth waiting a year for. .
different sound
there will never be another Bob Marley, but i feel this was a great effort by everyone involved to bring a new sound to his music. my favorite album is Legend, but i enjoy this one as well.
