Great performance but cheap product with horrible audio quality

This is another cheap, nasty and over priced release from Shout Records, who apparently don't care about the artists and are just after the money. WARNING: THE AUDIO QUALITY OF THIS IS HORRIBLE.

The sound quality of this CD is poor. Back in the days of vinyl LP's something this bad would not have been released. Even the notoriously bad live albums, like King Crimson's Earthbound and Black Sabbath's Live at Last did not sound this bad.

Also, the packaging of this CD is cheap. The cover looks like something that would be "As Seen On TV". The pictures of the group come from 8 years earlier. And the credits are not even complete. Jerry Eubanks is only listed as playing flute and no credit is given for keyboards.

This is a very nice performance. Some have written that the group was at its prime and peak 3 years earlier during Carolina Dreams. I disagree. . . they just got better.

However, one of the problems with Marshall Tucker is that they played some songs at every single concert. That mean songs like Take the Highway could get stale after awhile. The first part of this concert, where they play new songs is mostly fresh. But as the concert moves along and the band starts playing the hits, it gets a little old.

But, it isn't that way on all the old songs. They start to breath new life into some of the songs. 24 Hours At A Time is different enough from older versions, that it is good to hear in this collection.

I always rate a CD on whether I would buy it again if I lost it. In this case, because of the bad sound, I would not.

Last concert
I saw them live a few times, and this to me surpassed the ones I saw. Unfortunately this was their last concert before Tommy died, but I think it was great. I especially loved Jerry's sax solo on 24hours. I listen to this cd a lot, and am always loving it. The negative reviews are just wrong. .

Just buy it
You won't waste your money. If you are a Marshall Tucker fan and a live fan just buy it. It's my favorite CD to play in the car. Especially on a road trip. This my first review. The album deserves it.

A must have for every fan of the original MTB
If you were a fan in the 70's, this CD is an absolute must have. Most enthusiastically recommended to any fan of the original MTB. Maybe not their finest performance ever recorded, but definitely one worth having. A fine testament to a fine band. As the last recorded show of the original members, it's made all the more special. If you're looking for flawless, stick with the studio albums. To listen in on some passionate musicians and maybe relive some great memories - put your headphones on, close your eyes, sit back and enjoy the ride. .

Good but not the Best
They actually played two shows at Nassau, April 18 and April 20. I recorded this show, which was aired on WLIR FM NY, as part of the king biscuit flower hour broadcast. These CD's are OK, but the recorded tapes from the broadcast are way better, with respect to the sound and audience. . . I don't know what they did during the mixing, but much of the "crowd feel" has been cut out. I did buy the CD's because my original tapes are missing the last two songs, because I used only one TDK SA 90 tape. . Overall, a must have, but sound a little dissapointing. I did go to the April 20 show, which was the last show with Tommy C. .
