The Last for Marvelous 3 and Easily the Best
Granted if they did not, we wouldn't have Butch Walker as a solo artist, but they were a great band in their day. It is a shame that Marvelous 3 disbanded due to a dispute with their record label. READYSEXGO! is an amazing album that is easily their crowning glory. Marvelous 3 has always managed to straddle the line between poppy lyrics/melodies and substantial songwriting. A band that you would expect to be about as shallow as a wading pool is surprisingly not. Their creative synthesis of pop and rock is worthy of any music connoisseurs collection.

My personal favorite happens to be a fan favorite, a phenomenon that doesn't happen that often. "Cigarette Lighter Love Song" managed to transcend Marvelous 3 and is played at Butch Walker shows constantly to date because fans love the song so much. Songs on this album have a certain staying power that you won't find with most artists in this genre. It really is a shame that Marvelous 3 broke up, because they had figured out what every artist hopes to.

The songs just grow on you
I must admit that, upon my first few listenings, I was underwhelmed. The last album from the Legendary (in some circles, at least) Marvelous 3. Some catchy hooks and melodies, but not as good as The Hey Album. So I put the disc aside for awhile, then decided several months later to give it another spin. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised.

I have to disagree with the reviewer who said that it sounds good at first, then gets worse the more times you hear it (I paraphrase). It had the opposite effect on me. The more I listen to it, the more I hear, and the more I like the songs.

Butch Walker is doing his Butch Walker thing times ten, which is never a bad thing. You can't tell if the whole thing's a joke or to be taken seriously. And if it's a joke, just who is the joke on? But the music is there, and so are the lyrics. It possesses a seriousness and yet is still able to laugh at itself (ie: to not take the music too serious) at the same time. This album rocks, rolls, and occasionally offends (as most of BW's records seem to do). Straight-ahead rock, metal, pseudo-metal, grandiose overblown arena-rock pretentiousness (yet still good), and even a slow(er) song or two make this album a hard-rockin' fan's delight.

If you're a Butch Walker fan, do yourself a favor and get this disc. If it doesn't grab you right away ( which it very well might ) give it some time, and you'll be banging your head along with the Marv 3 in no time.

very nice
I miss this band, and I wish they wouldn't have went their seperate ways. A couple of years ago, this would have received 5 stars from me. Anyway, the album is full of all sorts of fun. Hysterical lyrics are present in every song. Great emphasis on sexual innuendo and 80's themes. Great vocals, great guitar hooks, many very special guest appearances, musical and otherwise (he even got Bowie!!!). This has power rock stamped all over it in my opinion. It is a total departure from the power pop of their previous release, the HEY! Album. Better songs, better quality, even funnier. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to have a laugh while listening to great music.

Marvelous 3 should be a top band
Great guitar rifts and lyrics are fantastic. Once again a little humor. Song after song these guys rock. If you like rock and you are a purist, you will love this cd.

A crazy rock album for the new Century
THis album should have caught fire, but it did only fair in the rock arena. This ablum came out in late 2000. I am completely suprised that it didn't burn up the airwaves more because its hard edge with great song lyrics and flavor of a more poppy punk. I think now of how Bowling for soup has taken off, and this should have done the same. But alas, the boys broke up after this effort, and of course Butch Walker (lead singer of Marvelous 3) has helped with the last 2 bowling for soup efforts resulting in a grammy nomination. The first five song on this album just kick tail, and the rest of the songs are great as well, but you get worn out by the first songs. Its an album that you could leave in the CD player for days (to lazy to change discs) and not care because it still rocks every time. So if you are a rock fan, and especially if you like Bowling for soup, then this album is for you. Crank it, good party tunes.
