Great trip hop/electronica album
I still prefer the first two tracks, but after a few listens the album grows on you. I love the vast spectrum of sound and tempo in this album, it goes from intense songs like "Angel" to soft, slow songs like "Black Milk", which are both excellent songs in their own regard. The guest vocals are a good addition as well, and there is a large variety of instruments used, especially in "Inertia Creeps", which supposedly was influenced by Moroccan music. Del Naja's vocals are ominous and monotone, which I feel fits in most of the songs, while Elizabeth Fraser adds a great female counterpart to the album.

The best Massive Attack album
If you only get one of their albums, make it this one. This is simply the best Massive Attack album. It's hard to explain the vibe of this album but it's very cool indeed, more so than their other albums. I guess I would say it's a real smart album.

massive attack
Can't really remember anything about the delivery experience. Bought this cd a LONG time ago. The album is pretty cool.

Simply pleasure of outer space

Simply pleasure. It is a music from the outer space-both calm and different from either usual hard-beat tunes and folk melodies.
.

I say this is music.
"Without music, life would be a mistake. One can always tell when they hear something extraordinary. " It could not be said better. Absolutely. It's a remarkable thing for one's mind to come in contact with something like Massive Attack's Mezzanine. It confirms a sort of existential purpose. Its brooding chords and complex harmonies manifest a certain unexplainable illumination. This is one of those rare albums one can live by. For example: It is a requirement for my potential significant other to be more than interested in this album. . . it's sick, I know, but this album is that amazing. Massive Attack's listeners will undoubtedly appreciate this album for various and different reasons.

I think "Angel", "Risingson", and "Teardrop", are completely wonderful in their own right but highly over-hyped. I certainly prefer the underrated(?) tracks "Inertia Creeps", "Exchange", "Dissolved Girl" and "Black Milk". The rest of the tracks are also great despite the lack of acknowledgement (side note, though: Group Four is epically astounding). "Inertia Creeps" is actually a well known favourite. Quite. 3D's sensually dark vocals entwined with an overtly Middle Eastern-influenced drum rhythm make such a strikingly unique composition; Its power is unavoidable. "Exchange" I like because it agrees with my affinity to chill-out music; it's Massive Attack meets the instrumentals of Air or Zero 7. "Dissolved Girl", as the name implies, complements the album's overall feel: a gloomy, lamentable daydream. But, in the end, it is "Black Milk" that I hold in the highest regards: the uppermost echelon of pure exaltation. I consider it, without hesitation, to be one of the most impressive modern musical pieces ever produced. It is superior. Rather. Its subtlety is extraordinary and the vocals transcend emotion and instead translate to sensuous rapture (especially with an applicable sound system).

If anyone has a comparable inclination to my appreciation for the music itself (aka a low regard for lyrics and instead a love of the art of sounds) not only will this album surpass one's expectations, it will vanquish pre-existing conceptions of what music should be. Mezzanine = musical-talent incarnate.
