DELBERT McCLINTON
I NEEDED TO HEAR LOST FILES OF AN UNDER ACCEPTED("GO ON - I WANT TO LOVE & I'M WITH YOU ) GREAT VOICE . I'M 58 Y. O. , YOUNGER FOLKS MAY NOT AGREE . . ALSO , I ENJOY STEVE WINWOOD's(JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN) & BUCKWHEAT ZUDECO's ( "MAKE A CHANGE" &" WHERE THERE's SMOKE THERE's FIRE" ).

I love Delbert
Thanks Tommy for turning me on to him. Great CD, Delbert is a multi-talented man.

Delbert rocks some more
A lot of honky tonk rock with one of his classics, I'm With You, and another frequently played at his live shows, I Want To Love You. This is another great example of Delbert's music. The latter is a slow song, which gives a newcomer to Delbert time to catch their breath and change the pace. Is definitely worthy of any Delbert collector or somebody just wanting to experience his music for the 1st time. .

Delbert is great.
His energy is intoxicating. I never tire of listening to Delbert's music - both the older and his more recent creations. Anytime I play his songs I start dancing around the house and singing along. Having recently had the good fortune to see him in a live show I enjoy it even more. "I'm with you" is great!.

One Of Delbert's Best
Funderburgh's bright, clear tone livens up everything from the opening uptempo blues "That's the Way I Feel" to the catchy, funky blues of "My Baby's Lovin'" & the mid-tempo, 50's-style swagger of "Go On". Blues guitarist Anson Funderburgh leaves his mark all over this release, & the result is one of Delbert's best efforts. The great, bouncy "Got You On My Mind" pairs two of rock & blues' best vocalists in Delbert & Jimmy Hall (former lead vocalist for the Wet Willie Band).

Another one of my all-time favorite Delbert tunes is the title track. For me, the synthesizer & horns evoke a tropical island feel on this one. Another track worth mentioning is "The Real Thing", more of a straight ahead rock'n'roller with more punchy horns. Although I don't particularly care for the jump-bluesy "Crazy 'Bout You" & "Who's Foolin' Who", the only true dud in my opinion is the dreary ballad "I Want to Love You". This tune is totally out of place & breaks up what's otherwise a bright, carefree mood. All in all, this is a collection I never get tired of listening to.
