acquired taste
It is varied in content. As a long time delbert fan this is one more that I like. I like Delbert's Texas blues stuff best, but can appreciate anything he does. .


Acquired Taste (Deluxe Edition)
It takes me 4 or 5 listens and then they all sound great. Gotta love Delbert! Not many of his CD's I don't own and he is truly an "acquired taste". Not as good a Room to Breath or Cost of Living but some real good stuff here - Do It and When She Cries at Night are top shelf and nobody writes a sad love song like Delbert - Never Saw It Comin' and Wouldn't You Think (Should've Been Here by Now).

Great bonus with the DVD and classic clips from Austin City Limits - Delbert rocks with a great horn section behind him!.


Why 3 stars?
Without the DVD this one would have gone into my "Never listen again" vault!
I am a BIG fan of Delbert and was looking forward to this CD and was extremely disappointed. His worst CD ever and I have them all! The DVD (Austin City Limits concert) is excenllent, that is the reason for the stars. I don't know if he is trying for a different style but he should go back to the three prior CDs for examples - he even got an Emmy for one of them. . .
I even saw him in Texas before he was famous and that's when I became a fan, but Delbert, come back to the Texas Blues, not this stuff!.


As usual, a great buy!
Price, Delivery time, consistant exellance in the product-- the best all around. I'm always pleased with everything about my purchses with ya'll.
