Good album of horror punk
The best misfits whit Glen Danzig on Vocals, perfect to the fans of good horror punk .


Danzig is a genius.
There's a reason a lot of girls like the Misfits while ignoring other bands such as Black Flag or Dead Kennedys. I don't know how a band managed to be both poppy and angry at the same. . . it's because almost every Misfits song is incredibly catching and has song along verses. If you happen to catch some live footage of classic era Misfits you'll see that this wasn't the case on stage, the performances and crowds are as rowdy and violent as any underground hardcore act you can think of.

20 Eyes, Nike-A-Go-Go, All Hell Breaks Loose, and Night Of The Living Dead are my favorites here. The only slightly weak song here is Mommy Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight. . . yeah I know, it's a fan favorite but I can take it or leave it. If you've never heard this, I envy you because there's nothing like listening to this for the first time, buy without hesitation, listen to it twenty times straight and then listen to it twenty more times.

However, I recommend you track down the Plan 9 release of this somehow, whether through eBay or downloading, it's a different, and in my opinion, much better sounding mix than the one presented here.


I say it's a good punk album!
Here's the deal. .

If you're a fan of music in general, I would put this in the Top 10 punk albums to get.

If you're into punk music and punk music specifically, this is the one and only Misfits album you will ever need. You can get the other ones if you'd like, but this one's got the up-tempo, poppy songs about zombies and violence. It's especially good for Halloween season.

However, if you're a fan of metal, hardcore, and all their derivatives, I'll tell you this album will never touch the significance that the Misfits release Earth A. D. has had to the emergence of extreme music. WAU is a great punk album, but most of the current/remaining punk scene doesn't take nearly as much influence from The Misfits as they do from other punk bands; leaving this album to merely stand out as a good punk album. Earth A. D. , however, gave hardcore and metal music a swift kick in the right direction and was the prototypical format for thrash metal. So if that's why you're here, I recommend getting this album, but get that one first and then check out this one.

Sing along fun! For the derranged, of course
Me? Sign me the ________ up! This is the best thing about the Misfits. Not many people would want to sing along to songs about turning into martians and eating brains. Their songs could rip you off with bad @$$ riffs, and can make you sing along. And when they slow it down a bit and hit the perfect balance between punk rawness and catchy as ___ vintage rock, they can really do it well. Great balance in the songs, as the whole thing flows perfectly.

Oh, and the lyrics. Gotta love the lyrics. Definitely violent, weird, campy, gory. It's just great singing this stuff everywhere. Of course, "normal" people look at you weird when singing "Move a little bit closer. Vampira!" and "Come on up to the devil's whorehouse", but those normal people are wrong. Being clean cut normal is boring. Originality and a little strangeness is good. There obsession with darker stuff is always made fun in their music. Just listen to them yourself.

Best song for me is Skulls. Why the _______ are lines like "Hack the heads of little girls and put em on my wall" and "the blood rains down like devil's rain, we'll bathe tonight" beautiful? Devil's Whorehouse for some reason makes me want to, dance, weirdly. Love the drums, sound like a whip. Derranged greatness. Braineaters? Sing it loud. Sing the whole thing loud!

Take my word for it. It's great fun. It's very short album indeed, but these songs can be listened to more than once, I am sure about that.
