Gorgeous Phenomenal intrumentation, beautiful vocals, and emotional performances make Chacona a joy. A lushly produced presentation of interrelated songs that tell a story, Chacona is one of those recordings in which something new seems to emerge every time one listens. I only wish I understood Spanish!. Amazing! It was worth the wait! The production is great, the engineering fine, and the performances beyond superlatives. Having seen Ex Umbris perform the works on this incredible recording in concert about a year before the CD came out, I waited in eager anticipation for its release. Joined by a wonderful selection of guests (including the incredible voice of Nell Snaidas), this is one CD you won't want to pass up. In a word: amazing. .
