Should Be More Well Known This CD is just as good as any instrumental rock out there (and I have plenty to compare it to). Neil Zaza should be much more well known than he is. I have three CDs by Neil, and this is my favorite one. If you like instrumental rock, you should buy this right now.
Melodic!!!
Neil can shred with the best of them ( he has shared the stage with Joe Satriani, recorded an album with members of Journey, etc, etc) but Neil is anything but a guitar wanker. This is one of my all time favorite cd's. Neil balances technique (oh the sweep picking !) with an incredible sense of melody and great arrangements that will keep you humming for days. If you like Vai and Satriani then you will love ZAZA.
ANOTHER GUITAR GOD
There were so many complimentary things written about this man and his musik, that the CD had a lot to live up to. It's so nice to receive something and it actualy exceeds expectations. IT IS BETTER THAN THAT. As you can see from my extensive reviews, I collect almost exclusively guitar CD's. After about 150 in the last year, it is not easy to be this impressed. This man has an extraordinary ear for melodie and composition, add to that an ability to play the guitar as well or better than just about anyone and you have one hell of a CD. I put this along my favourite masters TROWER / HOEY / KEAGGY / VINNIE MOORE / JIMMY THACKERY / ANDY TIMMONS and JOHNNY A. If you like instrumental guitar musik that will surprise, move and entertain you, than this shold be in your collection.
The best guitar instrumental CD
Helped my guitar skills, easy to play but beautiful. I love Neil Zaza since first time I heard his music.
Awesome Instrumental Rock
It's one of my favorite CD's of the genre. If you like Instrumental Rock type stuff like Vai, Satriani, or Andy Timmons, this is a must. The live version of Melodia at the end is alone worth the price (Zaza is a much better live player, so you'll also want to pick up Snap, Crackle, Pop LIVE! with Bill Dickens and Bobby Rock) The concept of this album for Zaza was to REALLY get his guitar to SING, which he was done beautifully. There's some real quality ballads on this disc, like Journey To Texas and Jenny's song, and some cool rockers like Hailin'. And the best song-to-be, "I'm Alright". There's a live version of this on SCP LIVE and an intro found only on that CD that is one of the coolest pieces of Intrumental Rock ever written. This version isn't nearly as good though :). This guy is so underrated it's unbelieveable. He should be famous like Satch or Vai but somehow missed out, and so did Andy Timmons. I really think Andy Timmons and Neil Zaza are the 2 most melodic songwriters of Intrumental Rock. Don't believe me? Buy Andy Timmons' Ear X-Tacy album and this one right now. . . you will NOT be dissapointed. The only reason i give this 4 stars is because SCP LIVE! is even better!.
