Great title song but....
The title song is superb but somehow the rest of the cd fails. Back with a heart marks the return to country music for Olivia and a welcome comeback to music after some health problems. The voice is not as good as ever, probably because it's still in recovery but the songs fail too.
Still, it's a pleasure to hear again Olivia back to her country roots.

An unexpected return to country music
Country music changed a lot during the intervening years so the sound of this album is noticeably different from Olivia's early albums, but it certainly falls within the contemporary country category. More than twenty years after Olivia abandoned country music for a full-blown career in pop music, Olivia recorded this one-off country album and surprised everybody by scoring a top ten country hit with the title track. In her early days, Olivia rarely wrote her own material but this album features seven songs co-written by Olivia with a variety of collaborators including Victoria Shaw and Annie Roboff, two of Nashville's finest songwriters.

The album was recorded at four different recording studios with six different record producers, which makes for a varied album although, for the most part, it hangs together quite well. If you think that one or two songs sound as if they don't really belong, you know why. Among the producers, Don Cook was responsible for two tracks while John Farrar, Tony Brown and Gary Burr each produced two tracks. Chris Ferrer and David Foster both produced one track, the latter being responsible for the new version of I honestly love you.

There are plenty of great songs here although if I have to pich out highlights, I'll go for Precious love, Love is a gift, Don't say love and Back with a heart. This album will probably appeal more to those fans who (like me) prefer Olivia's early recordings than to those who like her best for Grease and Physical. While this is not as obviously country as Olivia's early recordings, it clearly falls within the ambit of contemporary country music.

The best penny i ever spent.
I bought this masterpiece from Amazon Market place for one penny. please tell me what the world is coming to. . great music given away. . . one person garbage is another persons gold.

The comeback kid - wrong first single
But, the other NEW songs on the album are worth a listen and do show that Olivia is indeed Back with a Heart. Trying to embrace the country community with a Babyface produced "I Honestly Love You" that's more R&B than country was a mistake. It's shameful that country radio didn't give the subsequent singles a fair chance.
