good experience fast shipping, would buy from again! thank tammy lancaster pa. This is one of their best cds, was in great shape.
Great album - sound quality not as much.
I listen to it on a regular basis and love it more and more each time. Anyone who loves Nickel Creek will undoubtedly love this album. The only complaint I have about it is the sound quality. I catch myself constantly maxing the volume out and still not hearing it at the level I'd like. It just isn't meant to be a "rock out" album, I suppose.
A nice summary
They are highly creative songwriters that are also superior players. This is a nice summary of material from one of the better bands of the last couple of decades. The music is exciting and beautiful at the same time. This is a great place to start to explore their work. .
Good Reason to buy
Bluegrass is an easy label, as well as folk. Nickel Creek's genre is hard to define. Alternative wouldn't be a stretch, either. This album showcases that range with some of Nickel Creek's greatest hits. The tracks span all of their previous releases, and includes two live recordings. Music videos are included on a seperate DVD.
"Helena" is a haunting song of a couple playing games. "Can't Complain" traces the story of a couple that can't seem to make their relationship work, but knew it from the start, so they can't complain. The title track speaks of mistakes and excuses: "Others have excuses/I have my reasons why. " "When in Rome" is a great song, and the corresponding video on the DVD is great as well. Classic line: "Where can a dead man go?/A question with an answer only dead men know/But I hope that they never really feel at home/if they spent a lifetime learning how to live in Rome. " There most popular single, "This Side," is of course included.
This CD is amazing. If you're a fan of good music, you will enjoy Nickel Creek. They are one of the most creative groups in the music business. On one of the live recordings on this album, "The Fox," they weave Bob Dylan and classical music in with their own song. The lyrics are just as strong as the music, making this CD one of my favorite.

Farewell...for Now
' Tongue in cheek, the theme for the evening
was the ebb and flow of relationships and the strains one can encounter
along the way. On a return visit to the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN Nickel Creek
said a fond `farewell, for now. The foursome wove in the usual mix of NC favorites
balanced with a number of new(er) songs and Chris Thile solo selections,
easing into the evening almost by rote, but performing with energy and
aplomb! An extended version of Lighthouse Song and Ode to Butterfly,
and a sing-along (la la la) to Scotch and Chocolate made for enjoyable
moments in the early part of the show.
The encore was punctuated by Chris Thile's notion that this relationship
may be in question because it is Toxic, NC launched into the pop hit with
full groove on and Chris electrified in dance, stopping to pose only for a
moment before undulating to the rhythms. (Sounded uncannily like the
B-52's) Definitely a crowd pleaser!
Coming back down to earth Benmont Tench and Edgar Meyer once
again joined the group for some humor and musical icing on the
cake, if you will.
As the final notes of Tomorrow's Such a Long Time echoed through the
Ryman, we can certainly hope that the spirit of NC will continue to live
on in the years ahead in some incarnation. I suspect NC will continue
to flow musically for many years!
