Grown up, adult contemporary. I picked up a copy on cassette at my local Rasputin Music a couple months ago and today found the CD there, and I still enjoy it. I'm currently listening to this album, on the track Cry Wolf, and even though this album never really set the world on fire, and let's face it, the girl can't really sing, as great as her career and music with Fleetwood Mac has been, I like this album. The stand out tracks for me are Rooms on Fire, Long way to go, Cry Wolf, Alice, and the moody, slick, dark, Doing The Best I Can (Escape From Berlin). So far, it's really the only of her solo efforts I'll likely buy, and Stand Back is way too synthesized 80's for me, so that leaves the album Wild At Heart out for me. The songs all have a thoughtful, sensitive tone, with Jerry Marotta who worked with Peter Gabriel for most of the same decade doing drums for a few tracks, with Bruce Hornsby on Two Kinds of Love, and Kenny G on Alice. It's just a shame that her other solo stuff, at least to me, sounds boring. Still, I recommend this album. Just try to find it in the $2. 95 closeout section of Rasputin, lol.
Recorded in a castle, Stevie gives us her magic album

Aside from 2 powerful songs, unfortunately dated sounding
But "Rooms On Fire" remains an energetic mid-tempo love song. Only 2 songs hold up on this otherwise very dated album, which suffers from too many electronic instruments for the most part. The greatest song is the haunting, melodic yet strangely sinister would be title song, "Alice". Even with the electronic drums and percussion, Nicks powerful vocals and imaginative lyrics create a unique masterpiece. These 2 songs are why I've kept the CD these many years.
Nice memories
I like her voice and her lyrics are, for the most part, simple and related to life experiences. I'm a Stevie Nicks fan. This album brought back so many good memories of the 80s for me.
Stevie Nicks at her best!
Each song, from "Long way to go" to "Juliet" reveals the sultry side of the sexy siren, whose enchanted lyrics and melodies of love's more intimate and sometimes darker side, captivates the imagination. Soulful, fun and energetic, "The Other Side of the Mirror" is Stevie Nicks at her best. "Mirror" has great power and can touch the heart of the listener familiar with the singer's genre, if only one will listen and dare to step through to "The Other Side of the Mirror".
