Mostly For Casual Fans
I loved her songs in Fleetwood Mac and always thought that she was the real star of that band in terms of songwriting prowess and quality, but her solo material doesn't seem as inspired and lacks the tremendous arranging skills of Lindsey Buckingham. I'm not a huge fan of Stevie Nick's solo material. I love some of her hits, but this collection was hit and miss for me. Planets Of The Universe is a welcome surprise inclusion. There's many other highlights but just as many songs that I don't care for. The best songs here are:

Edge Of Seventeen
Stop Draggin' My Heart Around
Talk To Me
Stand Back
Leather And Lace
Planets Of The Universe

Those songs are her very best and worth the price of admission to this cd. The other ones are just not interesting enough for my taste. Casual fans will be pleased to find most of her radio singles here. Long-time fans might want this for either remastered sound or for the 3 rarities present, but likely own all of the material.

The remastering job is first-rate.

STEVIE NICKS MAKES ME WANNA SPREAD MY WINGS!!!!
Stevie Nicks made only one career mistake ever, and that was putting Don Henley on the track LEATHER AND LACE.
I'll get right down to it. Everytime I hear that guys voice I wanna puke all over the room. His singing even ruins my bittersweet angels soothing pipes when he starts honking like a donkey on that specific track, which appears on this album twice. Luckily everything else is without flaw. (ahem. . . I'm looking at you DREAMS-DEEP DISH MIX)

Anyways. . . I never liked Fleetwood Mac. The only thing that ever made a Fleetwood Mac record would have been Stevie Nicks (sans maybe the original Mac from the sixties,,, but thats a whole different horse) Luckily when Fleetwood Mac started to get hogus with albums like Tusk, Stevie Nicks spread her satin wings and flew off to make solo records. The results are obvious EDGE OF SEVENTEEN? Makes me wanna hug babies, hate on oppressive males, and drag race muscle cars at the same time. . . The same can be said for STAND BACK. No one else has a song like that.

And her voice is sexy as hell. I heard a story once about how Stevie Nicks did her coke. She couldn't put it up her nose for fear it would strangle her singing voice. . . so she used to hire guys to put it into another orifice for her. Lets just say the thought of that makes me a little bit dizzy, I gots to put on some LANDSLIDE or SILVER SPRINGS just to calm myself. Ahhh. Stevie Nicks. You are the fever and the cure. Crystal visions indeed.

Crystal Visions dancing the world away .Fantastic
I love the older versions of songs and music the best when music was still magic and the artists weren't all polished up. Stevie Nicks, I would not have wanted to grow up without her. Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, Aerosmith,Tesla,Peter Phrampton. . . the first times were the best.

:K.

Quintessential Stevie Nicks!
She is is the quintessential QUEEN OF ROCK! No one can touch her, and these arrangements offer pure proof. The CD is billed as very best of Stevie Nicks -- AND HOW! The updated arrangements are unbelievably rich, and her voice has the pure resonance and power that is her undisputed trademark.

Gram of 4
Her raspy tone makes any song delightful to your ears. I think Stevie Nicks' voice is totally intriguing. This is a great mix- fast and slow songs for all moods. .
