A Classic Song Re-Imagined
One could actually call it a classic song and not be exagerating. Stand Back - written by Stevie Nicks and released as a single in 1983 - was and still is a stand-out song. With some uncredited backup help from Price, who Nicks has said helped inspire the song, Stand Back quickly became a hit. It's hard to improve upon a classic - just ask anyone who has tried and they will tell you it's a daunting task and one best not undertaken. What this collection of various versions of Stand Back is is a re-imagining that serves to bring the songs to modern dance club standards without diminishing the original piece. This is definitely a must have for Stevie Nicks fans who are open-mined enough to experiece a beloved song served in a different, more funky style.

Best Stand Back remixes
Yes folks it was a dance staple at the clubs in it's original version at gay and straight clubs. This CD is LONG OVERDUE! This would have been an excellent remix back when Stand Back and it's video were playing in dance clubs back in 1983. In the early 1990's it emerged as a rather poorly done DJ mix with Edge Of Seventeen's guitar rift inserted here and there. It would have been better if they gave a dance treatment to Talk To Me like they did with I Can't Wait and Nightmare instead.
But finally cool remixes of Stand Back. And as a club go-er still today I can tell the difference from all the mixes unlike several of those who have left comments here. So if you are into club remixes this is for Stevie Nicks fans. Those into the classic rock era and didn't change to the music of the '80's and 90's will not like this at all. It's not Fleetwood Mac or your typical Stevie but it is a great official remix CD.
For those looking for other official Stevie remixes there was a 12" vinyl record released of I CAN'T WAIT in 1986 which included the following. ROCK MIX 5:57(Which is included on the ENCHANTED WORKS OF STEVIE NICKS 3 CD set. )
DANCE MIX 6:20 INSTRUMENTAL DUB DANCE MIX 4:23 INSTRUMENTAL DUB ROCK MIX 5:46 THE NIGHTMARE SPECIAL REMIX 6:38. If you are a collector of Stevie's rare stuff this is one of them. Especially with THE NIGHTMARE remix included.

Great song-dance tracks
I have always loved this song. I'm a BIG Stevie Nicks fan. I'm one of those people who listens to the same song over & over, so, for me, the negative comments about the same song, just different mixes did't matter. I personally like Track #4 the best. They're all good mixes, & I'm glad I bought it, & didn't "listen" to the negative reviews! The 2nd video she made for this song for MTV used ballet dancers. As a former dancer, I was so happy to see Stevie use ballet in her video. I think she was probably the first artist to use ballet in the MTV videos. She's awesome.
