Customer Reviews
Great collection
However the version of changes is not from chile as the long winded but rather trite liner notes say, because on the inside of the jewel case they say where the songs are from and that song they say is indeed from the Vancuver album. This is a great collection, as any phil ochs collection would be.

A Good Companion to the Box Set
The two tracks that were recorded in South Africa are rather enjoyable, too, and one wonders if Ochs' folk compatriot, Paul Simon, was influenced by them (Ochs recorded them more than a decade before Simon's "Graceland"). You'll find several tracks on this CD that are NOT on any USA-released CD, including the studio version of "Cross My Heart" and some cuts from the notorious "Gunfight at Carnegie Hall" shows.

One gripe--the sound quality is OK, but it's patently inferior to the USA CDs, including the box set.

Better than Farewells & Fantasies
The version of Changes is supposedly from Chile, but sounds suspiciously like the version on There & Now. This CD has several rarities unavailable elsewhere (including the two African releases) but could have had even more unreleased gems. School Days is a great addition, too. Here's hoping for a release of the many other unreleased Phil Ochs songs!.
