Papa Roach fan
There's nothing wrong with a band showing how talented they are in an album, is there?.


I dont love it or hate it, but it's not a tragedy.
"Infest" came out in 2000 and it was a ball of nu metal, complete with razor wire riffs, DJ scratching, and screamed misanthropic and angry lyrics. "Lovehatetragedy" is Papa Roach's sophomore album and it was released in 2002 on DreamWorks Records. Papa Roach, this time around, decide to write a more serious and dark album with hardly any rapping or screams.

Does the transformation work?
Here's my take. . .

This album doesn't have one bad track, the problem with it is that is doesn't have any stand out tracks. The songs lack strong chorues and are boring. Fans of "Infest" will love "She Loves Me Not. " Papa Roach wrote a darker record with more personal lyrics but that doesn't automatically equal better quality. These songs just don't go anywhere and are rather boring.

If you absolutely love this bands other stuff I would still recommend this album, just don't expect an explosive CD like "Infest" was. What you do get is a more mature album that has good and bad moments. "S. I. D. " is a metallic thrasher, "Decompression Period" is a depressing, moody song, and "She Loves Me Not" is nu metal all the way. "Time And Time Again" has a punk beat and is very annoying song overall.

If I had to make a list of favorite Papa Roach songs not one would come from this album but it is not terrible, it is just a mediocre album that I do give the boys props on. They could of wrote a copycat album of their debut but they didn't, instead they wanted to write dark, rock songs.

Bottom line for me is that it's just not that memorable or fun to listen to as an album. The choruses kill most songs and the riffs don't stand out song to song. If a song comes on random, I can dig it, but it is not an album that gets steady rotation.

It feels like it takes each song by the hair and throws them against a wall. lovehatetragedy is completely amazing! For me, the dynamic guitar work really stands out in this album. It's just pure, fierce power. born with nothing, die with everything is my favorite. The melodies are mysterious and entrancing. Jacoby is brilliant as always on vocals and the lyrics are thought-provoking. Papa Roach just keeps getting more and more awesome. .


DON'T BUY
Buy gettting away with murder or the paramour sessions. Bought it rite after infest, and my god this is their worse. . . this cd is awful except she loves me not. a few others are OK but thats it. don't bother-download them

a true clasic
I love the last album, and hate the new album. This album is great. I like this album alot. Don't take it from me im only 23 with 2000 or more CD's . Buy this album.
