GRAM PARSONS & THE FALLEN ANGELS "LIVE" 1973
IT WAS RECORDED ON A RADIO PROGRAM. THIS IS A GREAT LIVE GRAM PARSONS AND BAND CD. HIS BAND CONTAINS EMMLOU HARRIS, NEIL FLANZ, N. d. SMART II, KYLE TULLUS, JOCK BARLEY. YOU GET TO HERE GRAM TALK AND TELL ABOUT SOME OF HIS EXPERIENCES.

THIS CD ALBUM WAS CO-PRODUCED BY MARLEY BRANT (AUTHOR OF "FREEBIRDS - THE LYNYRD SKYNYRD STORY).

IT CONTAINS 12 SONGS INCLUDING AN ENCORE MEDLEY.

SOME OF MY FAVORITES INCLUDE:

COUNTRY BAPTIZING (FEATURING EMMYLOU)

DRUG STORE TRUCK DRIVING MAN (GRAM TELLS A STORY BEFORE PERFORMING THIS ONE - ABOUT HOW HE FEARED FOR LOSING HIS LIFE, AND SOMETIMES THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO, IS TO LISTEN OR SING A GOOD OLE GOSPEL SONG. )

BIG MOUTH BLUES

LOVE HURTS (WITH EMMYLOU)

CALIFORNIA COTTONFIELDS

ENCORE MEDLEY (A GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!)

THIS IS A GREAT LIVE ABLUM, WHERE YOU GET TO HEAR GRAM TALK AND EXPLAIN THINGS. IT'S A GREAT CD TO HAVE FOR SUCH A LEGENDARY MUSICIAN LIKE GRAM.
YES, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS ONE!!!

Review
It is not bad considering the year that it was recorded. I think that if you are a Gram Parson fan then this is worth the price of the CD. I bought the CD because this was the last live recording by Gram before he died so it is now part of my Gram Parson collection.

Give Me More Gram
This live album capturing a Long Island NY radio broadcast is another reminder of how strong his legacy is. Such a short life for Gram but so much great music.

A Good Bit of Gram Live
Of course- it includes Emmylou Harris and it gives you the feeling like youre peeking into his world. This CD is pretty good and its a nice introduction to Gram Parsons live. Nice to have if youre curious about his live stuff. Nice to have if youre a die-hard Gram fan without this in your collection. For the BEST compilation of Gram Parsons work check out " Sacred Hearts and Fallen angels- the Gram Parsons Anthology". God Bless you Gram!.

Textbook country rock
As one who cut his teeth on country in rough and tumble honky tonk bars I must say these "flaws" make it more accessible to my ear, more authentic. Essential CD! Some of the reviews have mildly complained about quality and lack of perfection. This cd is crakling with energy. I love the solos on "6 Day On The Road". Textbook country rock. This aint no watered down slickly produced Eagles or latter day Emmilou. This is a document of a working band on the road tearing it up just the genre demands! Look elsewhere for perfection look here to ROCK!
W!.
