great
the item was received in great condition and I think it's one his best works.

More "Partyman" Than "Batman"
"The Future," "Electric Chair" and "Vicki Waiting" are definite highlights while "Scandalous" emerges as one of the artist's truly stellar ballads. Prince's 1989 soundtrack to the Tim Burton blockbuster remains an engaging romp with some killer cuts. "Partyman" and "Trust" deliver the funk, but the energetic "Lemon Crush" is a definite throwaway. Though "Batdance" reached the top of the charts, it exists primarily as a novelty single. The only misfire is "Arms of Orion" - a pretentious duet with Sheena Easton that doesn't belong on any Prince album. When considering the rushed nature of production (most songs were recorded in six weeks), "Batman" holds up surprisingly well.

Awesome album!
I really loved the funky music they put in the movie when I was a kid, and I assumed it was Michael Jackson or a compliation of other 80's artists. I listened to this a while back! I was a huge fan of the 1989 version of batman with jack nicholson and Kim Bassinger, and I thought it was one of the best batman's they ever put out. The beats have the best 80's beats of any of the songs that came out during that time. I was excited years and years later to discover that Prince was the sole artist on this album. I was like, wow! I like him already, and now I like him even more. His Music is just great. The thing that made this album cool for me,was that it was catchy. My favorite tracks Batdance, Vicki's Waiting, Partyman. If any body loves good music then this is def. a must have in your music collection!.

Cleaning out the (Bat)cave

The nine tracks clock in at 42:29 and the album soared to #1 on the Billboard 200 and R&B album charts, but the results are uneven at best. With three numbers already recorded in some form, but not released - Electric Chair (June 1988), Scandalous (October 1988), Vicki Waiting (December 1988) - before Prince undertook this project, which means he had extraordinary ESP or was using his incredible international stardom to clean out the vault and tweak material for projects outside his solo albums. Batdance, Partyman (w/ "Anna Fantastic") and Electric Chair are sizzlers, though the drop-off in quality after the trio is amazing.

Certainly not the place to start when exploring Prince's intriguing album catalog, but the strong three tracks - with Trust - at least show where his pop sensibilities were playing before his New Power Generation concept that was a few years down the road.
