Proclaimers "Persevere"
But thankfully it seems to provide ample fodder for original material. Scotland's Proclaimers - twin brothers who evoke Buddy Holly - aptly title this album Persevere, as again it seems like life keeps interfering in what periodically seems like a successful music career. "There's a Touch" is pure Scottish-style energy, with the brothers' voices playing against each other effectively. "A Land Fit for Zeros" and "Scotland's Story" reveal frustration at social trends, particularly the socialism of ennui, and Britain's continuing history of racism. "Act of Remembrance" lays bear the sadness that accompanies maturity. One hopes these powerful brothers continue to Persevere.
