Great musicThis is so worth getting, ignore all the bad reviews, they don't know what they are talking about.
Thank you POM
Every song is great. This band totally rocks. I love to exercise to it because it's angry and keeps me going. Somebody obviously got into a bad relationship. Don't worry. By the next album, he's healed. Rock on! I love you guys.
I enjoy playing it, actually
Sure, they are clearly inspired and influenced by Nirvana but so what? Come Clean was one of my top ten buys of 2001, with songs like "control", "drift and die", "she hates me", "p*** it all away" and my all-time favourite tune, "blurry". I'm aware they have their critics - some of them really quite vicious - but I actually like Puddle of Mudd.
So I was really looking forward to this release in 2003 and I bought it as soon as it came out. It isn't as good as "come clean", there's no running away from that fact, but it's still a pretty good selection of songs and I thoroughly enjoy playing it. "Away From Me", "Change My Mind", "Think", "Sydney" and "Time Flies" are my favourite songs on the album though. (I just love the instrumental break ending to "Time Flies"). At least they write and play their own songs (very capably, I might add) and the fact that they manage to carry it off (sounding reminiscent of Nirvana, that is), is worthy of admiration in my mind. True, Kurt Cobain and his cohorts were phenomenally talented and successful but that doesn't make them sacrosanct. As far as I'm concerned, it's no different to Frank McComb sounding awfully like Donnie Hathaway. If Wesley Reid Scantlin and his bunch of dudes can continue as they started, I say more power to them.
A new album, Famous, is due out soon. Personally, I can't wait.
good hard rock
LIKE THAT'S A BAD THING? NIRVANA WERE GREAT. I THINK IT'S STUPID CUTE HOW PEOPLE ARE UPSET THAT PUDDLE OF MUDD SOUND A LITTLE LIKE NIRVANA. IN MY OPINION. PUDDLE OF MUDD ARE GREAT. IN MY OPINION. EVERYBODY COPIES SOMEBODY. DUH!!!! I'M 46 AND MY SON IS 15. HE CAN PUT ON A DEFTONES CD OR A POD CD AND WE BOTH ROCK OUR BRAINS OUT. I CAN PUT ON A OASIS CD OR A COLLECTIVE SOUL CD OR A PINK FLOYD CD OR A UFO CD AND WE BOTH ROCK OUR BRAINS OUT. I LOVE MY SON. MY POINT IS. . . . . IF YOU DON'T LIKE A CD SAY YOU DON'T LIKE IT AND MOVE ON. WHY NOT SPEND YOUR TIME WRITING REVIEWS ABOUT BANDS THAT TURN YOU ON AND WHY THEY DO SO. IF I DON'T LIKE A BAND I DON'T SPEND HOURS TRYING TO FIND OUT WHY I DON'T LIKE THEM I JUST PUT ON SOMETHING ELSE. PROBLEM SOLVED. WOW! I FEEL BETTER. THANK GOD THERE ARE SO MANY KINDS OF MUSIC. I LIKE ALMOST ALL OF THEM. EXCEPT FOR POLKA METAL. THAT'S JUST WIERD. SORRY POLKA METAL FANS. ANYWAY,ROCK ON PUDDLE OF MUDD. SEE YOU IN CONCERT IN JUNE. LATER/PEACE MR. BUSH HOG.
Could Have Been Much Better!!!
I love "Come Clean" and I was in anticipation of this, but when I got it I couldn't believe how bland and uncreative it was. I really wanted to like this album, I really did. It sounds like it was thrown together in ten minutes. The only reason i give it two stars is for the songs "Away From Me" and "Sydney" that's it. The rest of this CD is awful. This band can do much better than this. I am, however still a fan, I just the hope the next album (If there ever is one) shows me a little more.
