Puff Daddy's ONLY REAL GOOD ALBUM!!!! However, I would have to admit that "All About the Benjamins", "Victory", "Been Around the World" and "I'll Be Missing You" are epic classics. This album is a classic (even though these were the dying days of Hip-Hop and rap music in general). I would highly recommend this lone great album by Sean John Combs.
Wow A lot of people hating
if people thinks puff's bad (which i think he isnt) why dont they make a record label, produce beats and on an every now and then occasion write your own stuff huh! anyway i think this is a good album to buy not to download just the popular songs like will smith said "dont download go out and but the record". How can you hate on this album theirs a lot of good songs and one of my favorite of all-time ill be missing you.
losing sight of an excellent piece....
This album has a dual nature. Gang, I'm a griot for true hip-hop like no other. So let me expunge. . .
As a person who is able to appreciate [truly] all musical aspects. This album was FIRE!!! Seriously, this was the best output with Puff at the helm for BadBoy. Consider that The the production alone for this album. That in and of itself set the true tone of the album. This was an album that showcased some of the up and coming artist for BB [BadBoy]. Mase, The Lox, Black Rob. No BS, all of their 1st albums were very good. So in pretense this album definitely caught them at that hungry stage and they delivered. Yes, this album became a part of the trend of hip-hop being "jiggy, the bling-bling era. " In general it was a major catalyst for the candy coated craptastic stories of BS that most of the popular hip-hop/rap is today. Yes it also propelled Puffy's path into a rapid destruction of true hip-hop. But it's a very well put together album and the rhymes are above average and the production is very good. No Puff can't rhyme at all, we know it was ghostwritten. It's a definite party starter and sound throughout. It's greatest merit is being nostalgic in regard to its time of release. We all remember this point in our hip-hop lives this album was a major effort. .
The Beginning of the end
I. The death of B. G. and Pac were the end of the golden era of hip hop. This CD by Puff was the beginning of the dark ages. Everything we hate about hip hop today really took of with this release. If you love hip hop pass this one over.
Classic Album!!!!
This is one of the greatest albums of all time and is a complete classic. Who ever gave this album 1 star either knows nothing about hip hop or has terrible taste in music. Thats not just coming from me look at the charts this album won a Grammy in 1998 for best rap album and had two singles that reached number one on the billboard top 100 charts. It sold 561,000 units the first week in the us alone. Those numbers have to say something. If you are looking for a good rap album buy this one it is worth your money.
