Great SongC. I first heard this song an episode of The O. I found out the song's title and artists through amazon. I later downloaded and eventually burned this song onto a disc. I honestly like the song more with every listen. It has such a calming and unique sound. Both Finley Quaye and William Orbitt have very sexy and musty voices which allows them to perform the lyrics very well and convinsingly. If you are a fan of the more mellow and indie type music, I'm sure you will enjoy the song!.
B-Sides are where it's at
Even better to have Beth Orton on it. Dice is a great song.
If you like Finley and his work, well you will find this essential. Tracks like "Dice-Finley's Version" make it all worth the purchase, And the Remixes are great. . . I mean Layo and Bushwacka! Can you get any better!!?!
Just buy it, You know you want to.
Cheers, and happy Quaye listening!.
What a song!
You would have to say that it is some of his best work to date. This is the lead single from Finley's third album MUCH MORE THAN MUCH LOVE. While the whole MMTML album may differ from his back catalogue (ie a new rockier sound),"Dice" transcends all genres.
This is a folk tinged, electro blast of smooth sounds, co written and produced with William Orbit and featuring Beth Orton (who is sublime). It is amazing how well the three different talents of these fine musicians fuse so well together.
I give the "Dice" single 5 stars, download it, buy the single - don't let uncertainty over the whole CD stop you!.
