Two or three I'll buy another. I'm looking forward to my next Queen purchase in 2 or 3 weeks. Can't wait.

The things you do for money...
I would much rather have the Rainbow concert for early 1975, but then again the 1974-1975 era is my favorite of Queen's. I usually judge my appreciation of live albums in two ways: 1) is it a significant historical document and 2) are the live versions better than the old studio songs? As far as the latter goes for me, `Live Killers' is somewhere between `Love You Live' and `Live! Bootleg!' A good live record not a great one, and most definitely not the album I grab when I want to here Queen. This record still rocks but I don't know why I don't love it. Maybe "Brighton Rock" is too long and just not as impressive as the studio recording, surprisingly since Brian May is an all-time favorite of mine. The original side one is probably the best with the killer version of `Rock You' that blows away the original and serves as a great concert opener. "Rhapsody" and "Tie Your Mother Down" just don't go for the jugular enough for me. Freddie is bleeped out on "Death. . . " ? I guess Steven Tyler and Mick Jagger can drop f-bombs on a live album but Freddie can't? That's a head-scratcher. Queen fans will love `Live Killers' but for me its pretty ordinary and I am a Queen fan! .

If you are not so fond of Queen's studio-albums, try this "Live Killers"-album

When I bought their album "Queen Live Killers" in 1980, however, this only confirmed my opinion that Queen is an excellent live-performer of the songs which had seemed so dull, with all due respect, in the first place before hearing the "Live Killers"-album. I never was so fond of Queen the way they sounded studio-like.
Therefore, I pay my respect to Queen's studio-albums of the 1960s-1970s including the "Live Killers"-album which forms an indispensible kind of bridge between the old and new Queen to come.

Arguably Queen's finest hour live

The album was the band's first double live album and was their sixth attempt of recording the band's live show as they had recorded shows at The Rainbow Theater in London in late 1974, the classic Hammersmith Odeon shows Christmas Eve 1975, Hyde Park in London in September of 1976, Earl's Court in London in June of 1977 and The Houston Summit in Houston Texas in December of 1977. Queen released their first live album Live Killers in July of 1979. Apparently, only one has been officially released which was the Rainbow on VHS in late 1992 in the UK although Earls Court and Houston 1977 deserve legitimate release.
The Live Killers album was recorded in early 1979 in Europe on the band's Jazz tour and produced by the four Queen members. Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that Queen were a superior live band to studio. I prefer this album plus the We Will Rock You DVD filmed in Montreal (now known as Queen Rock Montreal) in 1981 and On Fire at the Bowl over Live at Wembley Stadium as Live Killers, On Fire at the Bowl and saw a young and hungry Queen.
The Live Killers album had a rocked up version of "We Will Rock You" to kick the album off which was released as a single here in the US but stiffed. Other highlights of this album include "Let Me Entertain You", "Spread Your Wings", "Now I'm Here", "Brighton Rock", "Don't Stop Me Now", "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Love of My Life" (a Top 20 single in the UK) and the closing "We Will Rock You"/"We Are the Champions" medley.
The other tracks are the medley of "Death On Two Legs"/"Killer Queen"/"Bicycle Race"/"I'm in Love With My Car"/"Get Down Make Love"/"You're My Best Friend" (all tracks are indexed separately on the CD), the unplugged "Dreamers Ball", "'39", "Keep Yourself Alive", a rocking "Don't Stop Me Now", a spirited "Tie Your Mother Down" and "Sheer Heart Attack" all rock superior than its studio counterparts.
The Live Killers album peaked at #16 in the US and went Double Platinum with ease as Queen were huge here in America when this album first emerged.
I first received this CD in May of 1992 and what a purchase. If you want the best of live Queen, look no further.
This album is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! .

Live Killers just rocks!!!
I mean, it was just an awesome show. This is a great live cd. There was one tiny problem. Some of the cd sound like it was faded or something. Maybe at the time was recorded, the group didn't have great eqiupment or the sound quality wasn't good. Other than that, it's a great cd!!!!.
