Still Great Fun After All These Years You can tell that they were enjoying themselves when they recorded these songs. The Queers have made music that is great fun. They don't take themselves, or anything else, too seriously. Their main objective is to entertain, and they do this very well.
.
The one that started it all!
Asian Man Records has been working on reissuing all of their albums and this is the newest reissue. This was the first full length Queers album that was released. This is a great album from start to finish and it definetly has a more "punk" vibe than the more poppy albums like "Don't Back Down" and "Munki Brain". Songs like Rambo Rat, and Junk Freak really get you going, but the softer and slower songs are what shine on this album. Actually, the softer songs is what saves this album from flopping. The best songs on this whole album are Burger King Queen, I Met Her At The Rat, I Don't Wanna Get Involved With You, Boobarella, and I'll Be True To You. These songs are probably some of the best poppy songs in the whole Queers cataloge. Now this reissue was remastered but sadly the quality isn't as good as the other reissues put out. They are definetly listenable and it sounds a lot better than the original. As for the bonus tracks, this is where the cd kinda goes downhill. Two of the tracks are just demos of songs on this album and the rest really aren't that great. I usually just skip those tracks, they could of found something better for the bonus stuff. Overall, this is a great album if your already a Queer fan. If your new to The Queers, I definetly do not recommend this for a first album. Try out "Love Songs. . . " or "Don't Back Down" first. Oh by the way, don't buy this album on amazon, go to the Asian Man Records website because it's so much cheaper getting it from them. Take care! .
