Fresh as the day it was released
Sick of the old Nirvana and Soundgarden discs and saw this CD in my browsing. I was feeling nostalgic and wanted something from the 90's. I remembered the Video of 'Dine Alone' saw it was cheap and picked it up used. Do I regret it?? Hell no!

If you like old Soundgarden, 'Louder Than Love' style, and don't mind a new voice? Pick it up. The production is sleeker, the vocals cleaner and the songs shorter. But it delivers BIG TIME! And will bring you back to the 90's in a big way. This is a great reminder that we had some great music in that whole 'grunge' era thing. If you like heavy 90's music you are doing yourself a dis-service by not throwing down a few bucks on a copy of this. Especially if you never had it in the past. I cant tell you how good it sounds today! Pick it up.

find much music in here from other goups later on
"We need someone to carry on, We disappoint" classic lyrics to me and really defines the period. I give it five stars cause the drumming is like Tool before Tool and the structure is before them yet Tool is getting all the credit. The round about drumming is featured in this album . The band has great twang in the guitar and rhythmic music to accompany it. .

Classic
Quicksand were a whole lot better though. This band came out of the hardcore scene of the late 80s that gave us Shelter, Texas is the Reason and others. Slower paced with a heavy bass line, dont know why but they remind me so much of Led Zepp how this band never got a wider audience is beyond me.

Awesome
It's one of those rare masterpieces where EVERY track rocks. Even 13 years later, this album still rocks. A must for any collector of heavy, edgy, early 90's post-hair-band metal. Truly, every song is awesome. Baphomet is one of the scariest songs I've heard. Still gives me chills - and it's the 10th track!.

Better and more urgent by the year- DESERT ISLAND 20
All of todays heavies owe so much to the punch, structure, and succinctness of the crossover perfected here. Every 6 months or so I just HAVE to put this on again. Formed out of the ashes of Gorilla Biscuits, who were pretty lean and fast as a punk outfit, and some other hardcore acts- they shone well on the debut self titled ep.

Then wrote their 'genius' effort here, slowing the focus of punk into sheer emotional power , the songs like old friends in battered leather jackets smiling broadly to reveal teeth lost to loud music.

I was lucky to catch them again, one last time, in Milwaukee, touring with Deftones in an effort to regroup. I had thought they were long gone. Playing a huge old Eagle's Club ballroom-THEY WERE SO MIGHTY, it was like a drug. The kids were drop jawed wondering where the rock roundhouses were coming from, seamlessly running through this whole album and a few from 'compression'. I risked life and limb to toss the kids around a bit for old times sake.

And then they were gone.
