RAISING THE BAR
Tracks is no exception. Collin Raye continues to raise the bar and somehow improve on perfection with each album he releases. Although there is no shortage of sentimental ballads on this one, there are just enough up tempo songs to break it up a bit. "She's gonna fly" has lyrics that everyone can relate to because everyone has lost someone dear to them. I challenge you to listen to this song and see if you don't get a little misty. If you don't tear up, I would recommend not only not listening to the rest of the album, but you should also check your pulse. "Completely", "Couldn't last a moment without you" and "Landing in Love" are all phenomenal songs, each with its own spirit and identity. The ballad "Loving this way" with Bobbie Eakes showcases Raye's ability to transition to singing a duet. His voices matches up perfectly with Eakes and this song has #1 written all over it. He seems to have a knack for picking songs that suit his style perfectly. "Water and Bridges" is an example of a song that hits home with everyone, being about past mistakes and being unable to turn back time. Raye also sings every word as if he's personally experienced it all. A song has more substance when it seems as if it has personal meaning to the singer. The bottom line is if you like CR's previous works, you will find Tracks at least as good, if not better. His albums seem to have a quality where the sum of the songs is actually greater than the whole. This is a must have album that is one of my favorite country albums of all time.

Collin Raye Sings From The Heart
I was of the popular opinion that when a typical country tune was played in reverse, the singer got his job back, got his dog back, and his woman would abruptly return. Up until about a year and a half ago, I thought country music in general was on the bottom of musical genres' food chain. At that time, when I started to do some D. J. wedding reception gigs, I felt I had to expand my muscial horizons. I started listening to a few contemporary country singers: Faith Hill, Shania Twain, John Michael Montgomery, . . . and someone I had never heard of (with the exception of "The Gift"), Collin Raye.

"One Boy, One Girl" and "What If Jesus Comes Back Like That" made an impression, and caused me to further explore the country scene at greater detail.

This album, "Tracks", is further motivation to invite country music into my life. One tune is particularly touching, "She's Gonna Fly. " It refers to an alzeimer's patient, offering an explanation to the victim's family as to why she had to endure the suffering that accompanies this dreaded disease. My favorite aunt could very well be the "She" of the title. It's as though Collin knows exactly what my aunt's family has gone through over the past 5 years.

If you are attracted to songs whose lyrics are worth listening to, I highly recommend most anything by Collin Raye. In combination with his easy-to-listen-to musical styling, his work touches the heart and soul. This album is no exception!.

Sgreat!
i listen to it every day. ahh this is a great cd. it's fun music, and the lyrics are wonderful. hope everybody enjoys it as much as i do!.

Huge Collin Raye Fan!
Although, the more you listen, the better it becomes. I have every CD Collin has cut and this is my least favorite. It "grows" on you so to speak. "Completely" is my favorite on this one. Collin has such a powerful voice. There is no one anywhere in the music business who has the enthusiasm for music that he does! "I Want to be There" is another good one on this CD. It is worth buying, but be prepared for a different line up of songs.

Collin has another winner!
But what really convinced me to buy "Tracks" were the outstanding reviews that it garnered here on Amazon. Before I purchase a CD, I usually listen to some of the samples from the internet. com. I have to say that I wasn't disappointed.

With the exception of one or two songs, this CD was outstanding. Collin Raye has one of the most powerful voices in country music and he puts his talents to good use in "Tracks".

My favorite song off the CD is definitely "Loving This Way", the duet he did with Bobbie Eakes. I cannot recall the last time Collin Raye has ever done a duet, but after listening to this one something tells me there will be more to come in the future. Bobbie Eakes has an amazing voice and it seems like her and Collin really clicked with this song.

My second favorite song from the CD is "You Still Take Me There" but the real winners from this album deal with controversial issues that only a man like Collin Raye can tackle in his music. "Harder Cards" will tug at your heart strings, but "She's Gonna Fly" can certainly be appreciated by anyone who has dealt with losing a loved one to "Alzheimer's Disease".

Collin has put together another wonderful album. I would also like to point out Collin's dedication in the liner notes of his album cover. . . "I dedicate this to my friend Owen James Hart. A good friend and a great father. Till we meet again. . . "

God Bless Collin Raye for the heartfelt dedication. And God Bless Owen Hart. . . a man who is certainly missed here on earth.
