One of the best Collin Raye albums ever! This album is one of the best he has ever released. Collin is the master of singing songs that both country and non-country fans can enjoy. I love it!.
Has never reached his potential ...................
His voice has improved strongly over the years but his singing has got worse. Collin got started with "Love, Me" and, for a singer with a fairly undeveloped voice, he did a pretty good job. He seemed short of confidence back then, and it actually helped his song interpretations. Now he's a very successful artist, but there is no nuance in his singing.
He wrote a song called "The Walls Came Down" that was the title track for one of his albums. It goes, "I've never trusted much/ got my reasons like most/ stayed well protected from/ every thorn on each rose". And that's the way he's always sung, closed off from vulnerability. It has been noted that he bears a passing resemblance to Don Henley. But here's the thing - Don Henley can totally open himself to vulnerability, which is partly why The Eagles and his solo career have been so successful. But Collin Raye can't open up, so he never sounds better than an echo of Don.
Collin has the voice to be in the same league, but he always plays it too safe, even when singing a heartbreaking song, like he's scared someone might see him cry. Anyway, this album, like all the others, leaves me cold. I'm finally giving my three Collin Raye albums away and not buying anymore. I think he can do so much better, but so far he never has. He's keeping a tight lid on something.

Callin' All Collin Fans!
If you're a fan of his past tunes. . Love, Me. . . If I Were You and so on then his latest release will not disappoint! It's got all the great love songs and adds a bit of fun along the way in Mid Life Chrysler and his remake of Stuck In The Middle With You makes this a great CD from start to finish.
Uplifting!
Great C & W artist. Saw artist on Fox News Show "Huckabee" and followed Mike Huckabee's recommendation to buy. I love the song "My Mid-Life Chrysler".
The Artist who gives meaning to lyrics.
His remake of "Stuck in the middle with you" is refreshing. Every song is great. It was a hit in the seventies and sounds really cool. The last song on the CD will make the strongest person weak. "Shes with me" is one of those Collin songs that will re-introduce him to a new generation of fans. The guy can just flat out sing. Collin sounds so much like Don Henley. It is just so cool to here him sing.
